They can't possibly hold value very long being co-dom.

No, they won't. As soon as people start buying them, breeders will have to compete, and everyone will drop their price quick, just like every other morph.

there is substantially more to it than price gouging, market ignorance, or willful intractability. I suggest you do a search on here and read through the recent threads about bananas. there are many opinions, and yes, eventually the price will drop, but they cost thousands of dollars now for good reasons.

They will hold their value for a long time considering how they produce. The males and females dictate sex of the babies. So if you have an animal that you can effectively control percentages of the sex of offspring i would say thats a very important key to the market on these animals. They wont be dropping anytime soon

I don't believe they will hold those prices for to long. How many people can and will spend that much especially for a female that will take a couple years to produce one clutch. Males maybe a little longer. The market for 20k+ single gene snakes has to be small.

There is alot more to the bananna gene then just single gene animals. They are not your run of the mill single gene animal

NERD has Coral Glow which if not the same thing, is very similar. Similar to Lessers and Butters. I do not believe Kevin has bananas, since he's been working with Coral Glows for years now.

And I've personally found Kevin to be competitive with other sellers. You have to remember that a lot of what he has available has a little "extra" (IE, hidden genes, fader, etc), therefore why some of his prices may seem higher than others.

Yea i agree that kevins stuff is worth the extra money. Brock has bananna stuff and there is some craziness going on with the morph.

The question I was just going to ask has been answered! I was not sure if the whole coral glow / banana thing was similar to lesser / butter.

The banana mojave has got to be the funkyest odd looking ball python out there.
    I want one.
I want to put it with my mystic/phantom line.
I will not pay 20k for a ball python tho.
Only green things that hang from trees should fetch that kind of value IMO.

Great read, thanks for the info. Now its time to hurry up and wait!

It is all based on regularity of offspring and what the animal can do. But the number one factor in the bananna market is the breeding and sex ratios issues with them. The same goes for deserts. They have reproduction issues too which is why that market is getting funky and alot of people are dumpin em. Now one of the morphs that are gonna keep their price alot longer is gonna be the pandas. The double homo gene is alot harder to work with therefore it will keep the animal worth more longer

Have ya ever seen a super spider? Nope. The bananna has breeding issues which could either hurt the market or make the market.
