Yeah, try live. Especially if this snake is just a baby.

If you only got it a week ago, STOP STRESSING. You need to give your ball python time to get used to its new surroundings. It is most likely stressed. Try again in a week, and then in another week. You can offer live if you want, but I would offer what it was eating before whether it was live or F/T.

Yeah, and of course make sure you aren't handling him, make sure his temps are correct and all. Stress or bad environment is often the cause of food refusal. Make sure he has good hides and whatnot.

Feed him at night and try scenting the room before feeding him a f/t. That always works for mine, I leave the feeders in a bucket of hot water for about 45 mins while they defrost. I've been able to switch all my snakes to f/t with this method. They smell the food and get hungry, then I move the rat in front of them with tongs making it look like its live.

If this doesn't work leave the feeder in the tub overnight and place a cloth over the front of his cage making his tub completely dark, this will make him more secure as bps are nocturnal creatures. In the morning open the tub and check to see in the feeder is gone.

If it doesn't seem interested wait a couple days and try again. Also if you've only had him for a week the 6 gram weight loss is probably from him pooping I wouldn't worry about it to much yet. You don't want to try live so soon especially if they are hard to find in your area. They are usually more expensive and if you keep influencing the live feeding it makes it harder to switch to f/t. I find it easiest to switch them to f/t when you first get them, new environment, new smells, new lighting, new food, its all a big change. Give him more time and be patient.

Was the breeder feeding live or F/t? feed what the breeder was. Wait at least a week and two would be better for the little guy to adjust they are shy creatures. Check your husbandtry as well make sure it is correct.

Sometimes snakes are weird. I have one snake that will only eat F/T. She refuses live, will not touch it.

He probably lost 6g because he ate shortly before you got him and now he is empty. its not that big of a deal unless he continues to lose weight.

Mine hasn't eaten for about a month now. Sometimes they just don't want to eat and as frustrating as it is, there's nothing you can do about it. Just don't try to feed too often or you'll stress them out.

Wait a week, try again, repeat until they eat.

Our first normal wouldnt eat for almost 2 weeks after we got him I wouldnt stress he probally just needs a little more time to adjust. I would wait and try to feed him again next regular feed schedule. Utnil then leave him alone and let him adjust it worked for us finally:)

There is a chance moving into it's new home it could have gone into hibernation. However with the strange weather this year my BP seems to be a little delayed this year seeing as how he ate yesterday.

My patel took 4 weeks before he would eat. He wa as only 80 grams when I got him so I was about to force feed. so I just kept to what people said here and waited every week and finally he are so just be patient even though its hats to do.

I wouldn't leave a live rodent in with the snake, unless you put food for the rodent and something for the rodent to chew on.

Also I would recommend that if it was on f/t or even live feeders to only try feeding once keep to a schedule, but remember they are on there own schedule not yours. but anywho you sound like you should know that seeing that you own others
