    Should I be up set
So I was on craigslist and I found this guy that was selling all this http://tapatalk.com/mu/6368eec4-6343-554a.jpg http://tapatalk.com/mu/6368eec4-6371-a837.jpg for $75 and a 6 high snake rack for $50 so everything came out to $120.when I got home and look at it all most of the rat tube was NASTY and the snake tube still had old shad skin stuck in side it..so my thoughts is to just throw them out so what my question is did i still get a good deal or not...

If I had sold that stuff, I would have cleaned it, but yeah, I think it's a darn good deal.

I just sold an extra AP 41qt rack on CL but I scrubbed and disinfected everything. Tubs, lids, everything. It looked brand new.

I don't understand why anyone would advertise something and not at least say it needs to be cleaned. I sold an extra 40 gal breeder tank last year for a low price that had been stored in my garage for awhile. I made it clear in the add that it would need to be cleaned to get it for the low price I was offering it for.

I think that is just common courtesy to be honest.

Just clean everything well. Wipe down the wood with a wet rag with a mild diluted bleach water to disinfect everything. Then just just keep those snake apart from any others you have for a few months for quarantine period.

**edit.. For some reason I thought you got snakes with it too. So disregard my last sentence about quarantine lol.

If you ask me, I still think you got a good deal. If it's just stuff that can be solved by cleaning, then I wouldn't be too upset.

There is a serious lack of this in the world and I believe that is our biggest problem. Ya I think u still got a good deal. A lil TLC and it will be a great addition.

The work to clean it is still better than the time it would have taken to build it:gj::gj:

For the price, I wouldn't be upset you need to clean it. It's still a bargain.

Do those rats have plenty of food and water? Are they supposed to be in the racks instead of in the smaller cages? If crowded or deprived of plenty of water, rats will turn cannibel.

Scrub it all down. I'd LOVE to find rat racks for that cheap.

Why did you buy it without looking at it if you cared about it being clean? It's craigslist, not a reputable store. I would never expect anything off craigslist to be clean or in great condition.

All in all, I think it's a good looking rack step up regardless if it was dirty or not.

I would buy new tubs. The wood and time alone to build is worth well over $75!

Yea thats what I was thinking but I might just try to clean one first just to see how it looks and smell

All the best deals tend to come with things needing to be cleaned!

You should see some of the fish tanks we've picked up for super cheap over the years.. Some of those were so gross it was shocking!! :O I feel like they sold them so cheap simply because they were too lazy to clean them themselves!

I think it is a fair price that being said I'd rather spend more and build new and be sure there are no hidden nasty. I bought a rack from someone I know and trust I realized it smelled like old snake pee and I spent forever cleaning it to get rid of the smell. I got a great price but ended up not trusting the old scuffed up flex watt and re-placing the whole works, and cleaning for ages. If I consider how much time it was and what I usually bill it would have been cheaper to order brand new complete. Economy of scale it is a deal if you think it is. A deal is not always the same for everyone.
