    Alright I have a problem.
So yeasterday I came home to feed nzuri and the tub was completely fogged up from condensation (99% humidity! ), it seems nzuri spilled some water and it got really humid. Its been getting colder so I turned my ceiling fan off which may have helped make it really high. So I drilled a crap load more holes in it and the hunidity is still at like 75%. There are 50 holes! I mean jeezzzz.....what can I do?

Can't you just clean and dry the tub and put him back in?

I did. The problem is I still have really high hunidity regardless of how dry it is. As I said there are about 50 holes in it and the humidity is still wavering around 75-78%. Which I would much prefer around 60%.

If it's in a rack system, make sure you dry the "ceiling" of the slot he's in. Sometimes condensation can build up there and often gets overlooked when cleaning tubs. Other than that, I'm not sure. When did you measure the condensation? If you did it right after cleaning, it will always read high. If not, I don't know. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Give it some time and recheck later today.

    Use a smaller water dish

Do you have any holes in the side of the tub? You can drill as many as you want in the lid but if there's none in the side your humidity will stay high.

Condensation happens to me also. I just clean it out make sure everything is dry. Repeat when necessary. I try to make sure the water dish isn't over the UTH.

warmer room temps. Condensation can happen with humidity as low as 20% if there is enough temperature difference. Think about taking ice cream out of the freezer it frosts up that is the same principal. Ventilation is under rated I prefer to more than less. Be careful that you don't end up equalizing the room temps to the tub. If that is what is going on. I have condensation issues in the winter as my room temps are often 15ºF below the ambient air temps in the enclosures. I just wipe off the condensation and go on my way it is only the front of the enclosure in my case.

Well I only have holes on the sides not the lids. The water dish is already pretty small, about 3" in diameter. I will check again later today. My room is already at 55% or so with my big fish tank running so, yeah I will check it later. I'm just really scared of a uri. That's like my worst nightmare. Is there any other possible things I can try if its still super high?

URI is a product of high humidity and poor air flow... it sounds like you have good air flow so I'd not be overly bothered.

Get a smaller water dish and use newspaper or paper towels. Aspen holds in humidity. I really don't have any other ideas than that. I don't have any holes in one of my racks and I don't have an issue with humidity unless I spill water in the tub.

Low humidity can also cause URI's...

I use paper towels, I get it for free at work. I will check when I get home. If its steady I may just let it be.

Do you have a documented source for that? I have seen someone told me and such but never a documented reliable source. If you have one I'd be very interested, it make little logical sense.

I have no scientific documentation but seems most of the big boys have concluded that low humidity can bring on RI's...

Brian from BHB mentions it briefly in this post... http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...m-low-humidity

    It's also mentioned here: http://www.royalconstrictordesigns.c...hon-care-sheet

I also know it was brought up in a thread here...

Humidity is still 80-82%. No condensation, but still high. Should I just let it be? Nzuri is just starting to shed so this will be good to help. I just don't feel its good in the long run..

I'd not worry you have lots of air holes so good ventilation. I imagine you have quite high humidity in your room.? If things start to smell musty or mouldy time for a big clean past that it isn't a problem.
