San Diego Monthly Meetup?

I would really like to get together with other BP lovers occasionally. If you'd like to meet in the San Diego area, please let me know. If there seems to be enough interest, I'll find something like a coffee shop for us to meet in. Hope to hear from you! :D

I will be moving there in a little over a year. I can't wait. I'd be down when I eventually get there.

We had our first "San Diego BP Club" meeting last night. Just a few of us, lots of BP talk, some pizza, and a little sipping scotch. Good times!

Is this being restricted to San Diego area, or moving a little further north on some meets? Would be nice to be able to meet with like minded individuals. :)

How about anyone in the group can set up a meeting anywhere they want? That would be ok with me.

I am also game for this. I am a noob to ball pythons but like to get more knowledge and meet like minded people. So count me in.

I was thinking a good place to meet might be the Denny's in downtown San Diego on the corner of Hawthorn and Pacific Coast Highway. It's right off freeway 5, pretty easy to find, and has plenty of parking. I was thinking either a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. What do you think? Who could make it? What would be good or bad days or times? If several of us can do it, I figure we can plan a meeting in a few weeks.

I work at 2 (coast guard base), so it's close to work. If its before that I'm in.

People will respond eventually. That's why I thought we'd wait a few weeks before setting anything up. It may take some time to get a group together.

Just stumbled upon this thread. I'm in Clairemont. It'd be cool to meet people who share the same passion as I do even though I'm half a noob.

To the OP, would it be easier to set up a mailing list?

A mailing list probably would be easier, except I haven't a clue how to do that. If someone else wanted to organize something like that, it would be ok with me. How many people would we like to have before calling a meeting?

It wouldn't matter to me. And we could set it up through an email ban list. I use tapatalk for this forum so I get any new replies, but who knows email could be easier so some people?

Sounds like some good ideas to me. I'm probably not the best one to organize this since I'm not that great with computers & stuff. I still remember the days of the rotary telephone. :) Who would like to take the lead on this? I'd be happy to help out & attend, but this computer stuff would make me crazy.

Lets just keep it simple. For those that use this we can stick with it, but like you said others might not see it all the time.

I think it would be easiest to organize on here, but if some people would like to get notified by email that were trying to plan something, it can simply be an email stating were trying to get together, go to the forum and give your input.

Trying to set up something up through emails with a couple people would be a nightmare. At least here everyone can see everyone's responses and go from there.

Sounds good. I'm putting in friend requests to everyone that's answered. I don't think I missed anyone. I figure we should have at least six people that want to come for a meeting before planning anything. That way, if a few don't show up, there will still be a few there.

It should pop up in your email whenever there's a new posting. If there's a way to save it, I don't know how. I have you on my friends list, so if we organize a meeting I can pm you. Thanks for your interest and welcome!

You can subscribe to the thread. I use an app called "tapatalk", it lists separately the threads you participated in and lists when there's a new reply. I believe when you get quoted you get a notification.

What about setting up a Facebook group? You can make events and people can respond - attending/not/maybe- there.

I don't use Facebook but am active here. That's a good idea for those that use Facebook!

This will be my first year breeding. It's been a long wait! I strongly recommend building your own rack. Since you're close, you're welcome to come see mine some time. The Second San Diego Ball Python Club (SDBPC) meeting will be held on Saturday, March 30 at 11am. We'll be meeting on the patio outside Starbucks at 1080 University Av., San Diego, in Hillcrest. Their number is 683-7621. I'll get there early to hold a table and I'll mark it with a helium balloon.

In case of rain, there's space inside and there's also a sheltered area outside. I'll announce again and send individual emails as the date gets closer. RSVP if possible. See you there! :community :fest:
