What's your breeding plans this year?
I'm at work and a little bored so I figured I would ask what everyone was planning this year. We are planning a few different things ourselves as this is our first "larger scale" breeding year. We have a total of 16 normals breeding sized females that we will be breeding to the following males.
Pastel
Pinstripe
Fire
Mojave
Lesser
Black pastel
We also have a het albino x het albino proven pair that we will be pairing this year, a het g-stripe x het g-stripe pair (if she makes weight), and a super pastel female x black pastel male if she makes weight. This will the first year for a couple of the males and for the het g-stripe and super pastel so those will be maybes but we have a lot of proven breeders so were hoping for some good clutches this year.
That's our plans so far what's everyone else cookin for the year?

I wish I could say I had big plans, but sadly I only have 2 normal females that are able to breed this year. It may work out to be for the best though as this will be my first season. I plan on pairing my enchi male with both females and my spotnose with the one proven breeder I have.
I would pair my spider with the proven breeder as well, but I was told she locked with a spider earlier this year so if I get any spiders I know they will be unrelated to my spider. :P
I'm really hoping for some female enchies. :please:
-
Plans this year....Sell art and save up lots of money, and prepare space for future reptiles!! :D I may not have my breeders yet, but I'm considering myself starting now! Practicing and learning the business aspect of it as well as spending the time I have while saving to learn about any situation that could happen(everything from sexing babies to fixing a wrapped umbilical cord)
Good luck to everyone who is already ready! :gj:

My breeding plans for this year are to try to breed my 09 2000 gram female spider to my newly acquired pastel lesser and hopefully produce some queen-bee's and some bumble bees. I also want to breed my pastel lesser to my normal female so we we'll see how things go.
-
I'm hoping to produce my first clutch this season, and I'm planning to put my male Pastel with 2 girls one being Spider and the other Pastel, and my two Normals together.
I know I don't have much, but I'm saving cash until next year when I can expand my colony with more future breeders (but in the mean time I just have those 5 to work with).
-
This is my first year and the only 2 snakes I have that are old/big enough are one of my female normals and my pastel male. I'm hoping for a sweet looking female pastel to breed back to dad (or sweet looking brother) to produce some supers.
I'm also hoping for a couple female normals to add to my breeding program.
UNLESS....I pick up a breeder size at narbc next month. It's ridiculous how excited I am for that show ;)

I have three female normals that are already up to size. Males are spider, pastel and cinnamon. I have a dinker female that should be up to size for a late season pairing with a male pied (provided we find a suitable pied by then).
We've also got a male amel corn being paired up with a snow female, a pair of amazon tree boas and a pair of Irian Jaya carpets.

Re: What's your breeding plans this year?
Scott, you're gunna save one of those mojaves and pinstripes for us, right? BTW, you would not believe how well that spider and normal are doing. Both are already pushing 200g! They are about to eat us out of house and home. What pigs! :gj:

Wow so many great cluthches-to-be. I am hoping my dinker lady will breed, I have 2 boyfriends for her my amazing looking yellowbelly and this crazy looking lemon pastel 50%PH ghost. Next year I think my spider female will be very much of size and hoping to get her a black pastel boyfriend, she will throw some amazing blackbees. Well I am getting a bit ahead of myself but thats the plans so far!

Re: What's your breeding plans this year?
Pewter male to bumblebee female for sterling bees, leopard pied to mojarve for leopard mojarves het pieds, hidden gene lesser pastel to woma for pastel soul suckers, if the male is ready. Also leopard pied to het pied females. There the main ones. Hopefully they are anyway!
-
Some awesome plans guys keep em comin!
We are breeding a lot of single gene stuff to help build our colony and we will be working into more two and three gene stuff each year. Were really limited on investment cash so it's a pretty slow road but were getting there. :)

I actually HAVE breeding plans this year. :D
Firstly, my new Fire male should come out of quarantine just in time to pair with my 3200 normal female with the faded head and killer blushing. I hope to make some knockout Fires with her.
Secondly, my Ghana Giant imported female ended her 9 month feeding strike early this year and has now put on enough weight to be paired to my Mojave male. Her dark coloration and busy pattern should contribute to some nice Mojaves I hope.
Third, my darling little Low-White Pied boy is finally big enough to have a go at the ladies, so he'll be visiting my two 100% het Pied females, hopefully mommas little stud muffin will make me some pied babies.
Fourth, my big dark Mojave female is ready to go so hubby and I will be sharing her. He's trying for some Jigsaws, I just have to decide between my Vanilla male, my Fire male, my Mojave male or my Pastel male!
Lastly, there is always the chance my super light dinker normal female will be ready to go back with my Vanilla male, and make some more outstanding Vanilla babies for me. She laid in July, but is happily pounding the food again, so we'll see. If she gets back up to her pre-breeding weight, I may pair her last this season.
I will also be attending the NARBC show in Tinely Park in October, and I might come home with another female to pair late in the season. I am still shopping for a Pastel, Black Pastel, Pinstripe and/or Lesser-Butter female.

Re: What's your breeding plans this year?
Not really 100% sure. I've sold three of my breedable normal girls to make room for some of the morph girls I'm growing up. I'm definitely going to breed my black back cinnie back to the black back normal (that I'm keeping) to repeat the black back cinnies. And since he's a possible het hypo, he's also going to breed my het hypo girl that proved out this year.
My lesser male - I'm not sure who I'm putting him to yet. I've got another normal I'm keeping, and I have a really odd looking female that I may throw the yellow belly to.
My het clown male will go to two het clown females. My lemon pastel to a girl I think might be a black belly, and I'm not sure yet what I'm putting to my lesser female and lemon pastel female.
My enchi/pin/bengal het pied is on a breeder loan to breed to a pied and a proven het pied and two other girls, once the breeder decides who they will be - so hoping for some really cool stuff from that.
I think that's about it! :D
-
This should be my first year as well, can't wait!
I will be breeding 3 proven normal females between my lemon blast and spider males.
I'm going to try and breed the proven pair of het ghosts I just got.
I will also be trying my pair of het pieds that I've been growing up for the first time. She has now almost reached 1600 grams, I hope she produces some pieds for me!
Having the possiblility of 5 clutches sounds pretty great to me. Even if I only hatch out one normale male I'll be happy. I will be glad to share the process with you all.
-
I've still got a teeny collection (seven so far) so my plans are limited, I've got a normal female and a pastel female. Think I'm going to pair my spider male with the pastel as I've been DYING for a bee since day one. That leaves pairing the Mojave with my normal girl. Hopefully getting a female mojo out of that and do some supers down the line!
-
I'm still getting eggs so I haven't really started thinking about who's going with who yet. Just working on feeding everyone and trying to put weight back on the girls who laid this year. I think it will be a late year here, but hoping to do my het carmels, and a bunch of Enchi stuff if he is ready.

Re: What's your breeding plans this year?
my snakes are all still too young, but I'll be pairing some leos and my crested geckos this year

Re: What's your breeding plans this year?
I haven't quite sat down and decided who I want to pair up yet, but here's the part of my collection that will be ready this year:
Males:
Calico, Hypo Black Pastel, Super Pastel, Albino, Mojave.
Females:
Sulfur Mojave, Black Pastel, Orange Hypo, Albino, Normal.
Many different ways I could go. I want to get the Hypo gene into as many morphs as possible in my collection, and what I breed now would probably have a greater impact down the road. I'm leaning towards:
Hypo Black Pastel X Sulfur Mojave
&
Calico X Orange Hypo
&
Hypo Black Pastel X Black Pastel
-
Males: Pastel butter, Albino, Loaner pin, Hypo (No plans for him this year)
Females: Albino, Albino, Spider, Pin, Pin, Super pastel, Lesser
Pinstripe male:
Albino
Possibly to spider?
Pastel Butter male:
Pin
Pin
Super pastel
Lesser
Albino male:
Albino
-
We have another great year lined up, now if all the snakes in question will once again be so kind :)
Male X female:
Clown X one lesser or two :) One might get mojo to try for BEL's
Clown X yellowbelly(unless I get enough holdbacks this season)
Clown X Bumblebee
Clown X spider yellowbelly(hopefully)
Mojave X normal
Black pastel pos granite X normal
Black pastel pos granite X pos granite mom
And possibly more :rolleye2:

My plans include gaining more females so hopefully I can breed in 2014. :(
