Obviously you've never hatched babies out when 99% of them dont take rats their first meals. Mice do not stink unless your too lazy to keep them clean. Mine dont stink as their clean every 3 days along with the rats.
And no They cant tell food is in room when they been in same room for 5+ years. They grow accustom to the smell and dont react to it. And when i do handle the snakes, guess what they dont bite.
Not ALL snakes will take rats, when you have a larger collection youll realize that. Ive had females after laying eggs NOT take rats again and required mice only few months.

The only thing you have said here that is true to a point is about the mice having a stronger smell. The rest is just plain INCORRECT :colbert:.Where are you getting this info? A book, if so throw it in the garbage.I have kept my rodent colonies in the same room with my snakes( up to 13ft retic) and it never caused a issue.Maybe your doing something wrong if your having issues :gj:

i believe i was once told that mice smell stronger because the males "mark" their territory.
aka they go around piddling every few centimeters instead of just peeing in one corner.
not sure how true that is though!

It is true, Males musk non stop which is why you dont want a lot of males, 1 or 2 per group for mice is all thats needed. Same with rats if you hold a rat he will drag and piss on you.
When your stock STINKS, it needs to be cleaned and if stinks day after cleaning you have too many males
