    the most random/stupidest question ever
Could someone successfully keep a BP without anyone you live with knowing you had it? Considering the fact that you have a bearded dragon and keep crickets in a tub, you could simply say that the other tub is crickets and the frozen mice/rats in the freezer are treats for him! LOL Also, say your the only one home on Monday and Wednesday nights so one of those days could be feeding and the other be for cleaning. Do you think it could work?

*Please note that a co worker and I get very bored at work and he's not allowed to have a snake so we were trying to find ways for him to have one without anyone knowing lol

How old is that co-worker? I assume he still lives with his parents? If so than he should respect THEIR wishes.

I can see it now......Mom goes into room, to put fresh laundry away, unbeknownst to her, her child has been keeping a snake in their room and it has escaped. As she is putting away the clothes, mom sees the escaped snake and freaks out, she trips over the childs skateboard while frantically trying to get away, she falls, hits her head on the corner of the nightstand and breaks her hip.
Mom spends 2 weeks in hospital, suffering from a subdural hematoma, and hip replacement surgery, and has to spend the kids college fund to cover hospital bills, and bills from lost income, because she can't return to work for 3 months.......

......so, you tell me Gpoop, is it a dumb idea?

He should just keep mentioning it to his parents. If he's serious about it he will keep it up for long enough that they might get used to the idea and be more willing to cooperate. Keeping it hidden from them is a terrible idea.

Why keep a snake / pet if you always have to hide it? Not a good idea. :thumbsdow

Like I tell my kids "if you have to lie, hide or be deceitful to do something then you really shouldn't be doing it"

    Bad idea......

Agree with the posters here, hiding a pet isn't a good idea, especially the type of pet most people are afraid of. It's one thing if something cute and furry gets loose, it's a TOTALLY other story when something slithery and scaled pops out from underneath the refrigerator or out of your shoes. With snakes (meaning the unexpected encounter), most people's reactions are to either run from it or kill it. :(

I know you'll think "oh, it's a one in a million chance that MY snake will escape." but I had a snake escape from a firmly closed lid tub that had CINDER BLOCKS on top of it. These guys rival Houdini when it comes to unbelievable escapes.

    Bad, bad idea.

A lot of people are scared of snakes for one. And, for two, I'm guessing that since you know he isn't supposed to have a snake there is a reason for it.

    Again, bad idea.

Talk about ways he can convince his parents. I am guessing the whole falling over the skateboard getting hip replacement surgery isn't going to fair to well...

The guy already has a Bearded dragon! and he has crickets. this could be an easy one. However ask him to first see if he can't have another lizard, rather it be a beardie or or even a gecko. if that works and he can decide to change his mind and try to convince his parents that the only difference in the beardie and other lizards is that the snake doesn't have legs... It could work...

Hey, I know that it starts to seem like it after a while, but you don't live with your parents forever. Your friend will be an adult who can have whatever pets he wants before too long. If it's important to him, he can either wait or be (respectfully) persistent with his parents. Also, you don't know what your future looks like, and moving (with ANY) pet can get messy. Practice responsible pet ownership, there are too many of these guys that don't get proper care, or get abandoned or killed to be "gotten rid of".
