Conquered my fear and got a new pet
While I was getting a few rats at the local reptile store I decide it was time to conquer my fear of tarantulas. So I asked to hold one but once he brought it out I almost changed my mind but was glade I didn't after holding it my fear went away and I ended up buying it right then and there. So here's some pics of Fluffy my new female rose hair tarantula. Also if anyone has any advice about keeping it happy and healthy let me know.:spid0r:

Congrats! I'm a recent Tarantula's convertee too :D They are actually pretty cool once you get over the "WOW" factor. I'm not too much on tips because I'm pretty new myself but good luck :) I'm getting two G. rosea and a G. pulchra tomorrow to increase my collection to 6 :D

    Regards,

Congrats on getting over your fear! Keep the substrate on the dry side and at about 3-4 in depth. Give her a small drinking dish that she can hover over.

Good luck with whatever other type of T you get. Alexandra V gets hers from some breeder there in Canada. I'm sides she'd be more than willing to give you the info. Unless you already have it.

Greenbottle Blue Tarantula (Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens) is a pretty good starter Tarantula. A bit expensive for a sling but fairly easy to care for. Check their pics :) Awesome looking spiders! Will be on my next order for sure.

The GBB can seem aggressive, but they are curious. Mine seems to "investigate" everything that enters it's enclosure. Even when doing cage maintenance. They also kick those irritating hairs.

Since you are a new T owner, stick with terrestrial T's until you research and learn more about them. Aboreal T's seem to need higher humidity and it can be tricky to maintain that.

Awesome stuff, BIG congrats! :D And the G. rosea is suuuuuuuuuper easy to care for, keep her enclosure dry, offer a hide and a water dish and you're set! :) Glad to see you got over your fear and got into the spider hobby!
