    how do you keep track?
    Hey Forum,
I want to start keeping track of when my BP's eat/produce excrement/shed ect, but I'm having trouble coming up with a format. I currently have multiple papers with little more than scribbles on them.

I was wondering how you do it? Do you have a template? Is it like an invoice? I've never been much good at this type of thing- but I do believe it is important.

If you could just post what you do, or even if you have an example post that! Thank You so much, once again!!!

I just write it all in a notebook.

The top contains the morph, sex, DOH, where i got the snake from, any additional info.

Then i have a column for "Fed", "weight", and "Shed" I just date everything and right it under the column. I will write down what prey, they are fed on what day. Either p/k, live or f/t and what size the prey item is. I usually do a weigh in once a month for everyone to see progress on weight gain.

Im not as high tech to have in on my computer :) maybe someday.
    Hope this helps!

Don't have my examples on this computer, but I just use an excel file with a different column for each snake. If something happens (shed, feeding, refusal, tub cleaning, vet visit, shed assist, etc.) I date it and put it in

My son started a little black book. No no not that kind! He records like his science fair projects. Daily logs and thoughts. We will get a spread sheet started soon.

Something kind of like this, but nicer looking. Wasn't sure how to attach my spreadsheets to the reply.

I used to do it a long time ago with Degei http://www.eyehit.com/degei/ however I no longer keep track of most of what I consider insignificant for my breeders, I only keep track of pairings, ovulation, pre-lay shed and egg laying because that's what matter to me.

Now when it comes to hatchlings that I sell they come with complete feed record (a feed card showing the date and prey type)

I just started a journal to write everything down, that way if the power goes out, or my computer just acts up I don't have to wonder who ate what on which date. Some bookstores have some cool ones if you don't want to use the standard spiral school style ones.

I use Vyper, and have been since it came out. Love it!

Each animal has a printed rack card that I keep beside their tub in a plastic sleeve. I jot notes as I need them, and at the end of the month I put everything into the computer.

I've had way too many computers crap the bed on me or it always seems like my laptops are getting broken. Oh well thats what I get for being clumsy.
I'm old fashioned. I have a binder with a page for everyone. I print out action sheets. That way I can't lose everything. I've got a big dry erase board that I write stuff down on until I can transfer it to the notebook.

We also use Vyper, and we love it. Very detailed, and provides everything we could possibly need from a tracker. From birth, all the way to the sale of the animal. Great program.!!!!!

I've been using iHerp for a while now (almost 2 years?), and so far so good! :gj:

I haven't tried any of the others mentioned, so I can't say if it's better or worse... but I find it really easy to use, although their mobile version could use some help.

Re: how do you keep track?
i have a 5 subject notebook & i use each section for different things...
    1) feeding
    2) shed/poo
    3) weight/growth
    4) temperatures
    5) humidity
for the last 2 there i have an additional 1 subject notebook to use since that info is recorded the most.

    i also use iherp.com. :gj:
