True Super Dwarf Retic - UPDATE!
My female Super Dwarf Reticulated Python just shed and I was cleaning her tub so I thought I would take a shot. Excuse the terrible lighting and mess. I still need to get outside shots to show color properly but it's hard to take shots of a quick moving small snake like this by yourself :) I'll get some outside shots when I enlist some help.

They look cool but you can really appreciate them watching them in action. They follow every little thing. Super smart animals.

She's my "interesting" one. She can be a little more complicated to get out of the tub but once out, is just as laid back as my male is. The only exception is that he's that way all the time. She's got me once good (if you can consider it that). The other times she's just bumped me in a mock strike. Once she's in hand she relaxes and will just hang out. She has emptied a few times while I was grabbing her. I assume this was defensive also. I think this is more of a defensive posturing because she's in a tiny tub and I'm a large scary thing grabbing her. The male doesn't care at all. I put my hand in and he flies over like you would think he's going to strike but then just stops dead and lets you grab him. Very interesting. She's a whopping 107g :D That's up from 69g when she came. The male is up from 47g to 95g. Decent growth for a few months. Their muscles and movement are much more fluid now. They were shaky little hatchlings when they arrived. Cracks me up thinking about it.

She is just gorgeous. I don't think the BP fever is limited to only BPs, because I want one!

Awesome animal! She is a "true" Super Dwarf Retic? Roughly how big should she get and where did you get her? I would love to add one to my collection!

This is a True Super Dwarf. My pair was 50% related having the same father and different mothers. The father is just over 4' and the mothers a little over 5'. I got them from Evan Stahl but he's already sold out for the year. He sells a handful of them once year from a friend of his that has been breeding them long term. They really are cool snakes that are very interesting to keep.

Does that mean he'll have more next year? About how long would you say she is now? She looks great! Can't wait for outside pictures.

I believe so but don't quote me. My guess would be 18-20 or so inches? I don't measure any of my snakes other than weight. They both have put on some length but much more so muscle and overall thickness. She looks thick in the pic but she emptied out as soon as I grabbed her to clean the tub so that is waste and liquid :D That's when I weighed her. I'm moving them up to fuzzies now so I imagine I will see another growth spurt.

Shes Quite the beauty, I cant wait till I get mines in the next month hopefully:D.
That vid when you first got them they looked almost like noodles with heads attached :P , even if that was just waste/water weight they sure did get some size between those months.

She was 69g and is now 107g :) Not too shabby for a few months. They just ate their first rat fuzzies a few nights ago so I assume they will keep rolling.

I really like the colors ! Great pickups.....I also admire what you said some time ago about how you were going to keep the lines pure. No crossing. I think this shows that you have great integrity with this species.

I have a 1.1 pair and the dad was a little over 4' and the moms (my pair is 50% related) were a little over 5'. My male is very chill and the female a bit crazier but I think that has a lot to do with them being a few months old and tiny. Once she's out of her tub she's great to deal with just like my male is.

Thanks a lot Yosef. I really appreciate them as they are. I love the paint jobs on my balls but these SD Retics are just gorgeous and have a ton of personality. I try to keep high integrity in all I do and that transfers over to my reptiles too.

I've never thought too much about these pythons because I haven't seen many. They have amazing patterns, and those eyes are crazy. Thanks for sharing.

Post some more pics if you get a chance. I'd like to see them in the sunlight.

It's going to be your fault when I add these to my collection.
