6 Month Update on a Rescued BP..

I'm sure many of you remember my first rescue, affectionately named Slevin until I realized he was a she. Temperance is doing much better than I had ever expected. It's incredible how quickly Ball Pythons can bounce back with proper care. It's been just over six months since I took her in and she has gone from 250-300g to just under 1,000g in this short time. No, she has not been "power fed". She's just packed on the weight quickly now that she's being offered the properly sized and prepared meals in a suitable environment. :) I'm quite the proud keeper.

On a side note..
My male normal rescue that I picked up about one month after Temperance is doing just as well. :D
He was four years old and about 330g when I brought him home. :(
Tonight, he weighs in at 780g. Great weight gain for a full grown male who was quite emaciated.
No before and after pictures at this time. He's still getting used to being handled for short amounts of time after not being touched for over three years. I prefer not to bother him more than necessary.

AND..
The Pinstripe I took in who would not eat for about ten months has not refused one meal since I brought him home. He's also gaining weight nicely, but not nearly as quick as the normals of course since he wasn't as skinny.

This just floors me... wouldn't the previous owners have wondered why their adult snake wasn't the right size? :S

Oh, don't get me started on those people. Haha. Classic case of ignorance. People buying animals for their kids without doing any research whatsoever. The condition he was in was deplorable. They had a BP before him who mysteriously died and when I asked what they thought had happened they nonchalantly said, "oh, it was probably just the mites that killed him. So we bought another one for the kids." I got in my car and drove away immediately before I went off on them.

It is soo cool to watch them bounce back.
My two little ones are in the 1k range now too, I was looking at pics from when I first got them and they were only 150-200g:O:O

Thanks everyone! :D I'm so proud of how she is doing! And she is so gentle and tolerant of being handled for extended periods of time. I lucked out getting her owners to give her to me.
