Mind blowing - Ringer Champ clutch
    The breeding...

The results from breeding a fire ringer to the champagne extreme ringer...

There was also a fire and a normal in the clutch. The most extreme examples are patternless (lacking the champagne pattern) like mom. This clutch blew away my expectations. I was hoping for some ringers but not this.

Wowee nice!! Does that first one have a little pink nose, or is that just the lighting? :P

I wonder, do you think that the ringer trait is a discreet dominant allele that's being brought to the forefront by the champagne gene? ... It seems like you're really onto something cool there ...

Wow! Those are amazing! I can't help but wonder if you're looking at a new type of pied. :weirdface Major congrats, whatever it is!

As for the pink babies...the color in the first picture looks a bit off, because the paper towel looks pink as well...so it's exaggerated. However, the white on newly hatched ball pythons always looks pink to start with. After a shed or two, it'll be that vibrant white you expect.

Have to agree with some of the others. Looks lime you may be onto something genetic. For both parents to be ringers and all the offspring...... Hope this proves to be something new for ya.

I believe you have either accidentally stumbled upon a pied gene hiding in your snakes, OR you managed to make genetic ringers with that unbelievable female.

    Huge congratulations to you.

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited to see the results of future breedings and figure out what I have here. Unfortunately, all the champagnes are females so it will take me some time. I may breed mom to a different male next year to see if she will produce more ringers on her own, or was it the combination of the two ringers that produced the results. Fun stuff!

Dude...you can hardly call that Champ a "ringer". It's a high white Pied. BG would do the same breeding to get more if it was him. Figure it out the next year with the babies. BG wants one by the way.

I would agree that she looks pied but she was produced from a champ x normal breeding and there was nothing else unusual in that clutch, or subsequent clutches. Champs seem to throw a lot of ringers and I believed that she was just an exceptional example. I hoped, but didn't think, the babies would be so extreme. Either way, I have a fun project on my hands.

BG doesn't really think it's genetically a Pied...although it could be. It just has way too much white to be called a ringer.

Actually, I think BG is right -- by definition, the mama and those babies are piebald, even if they aren't genetically the same simple recessive pied we all know and love. I think "pied" or "piebald" just refers to any animal with large patches of white with color.

... Maybe you've stumbled on a new way to get a true "pied" pattern without the well-known recessive "pied" gene ... How cool would that be? :D

I think breeding one of the babies or mom to a visual pied as well as a non ringer would be on my list of things to do... it would be a good way to rule out the pied/ new pied/ genetic ringer debate.

Those babies are amazing and some day when you figure them out and decide to let other people have them .. I so want on that list!

    SUPER congrats!!!
