Our little girl didn't make it
it seems that the daily treatments prescribed by the vet may have been too stressful at her young age, she was getting better over the last week but she died today.

we will miss her, she was such a sweet girl . . .:tears:

the details/backstory of her treatment are in the previous thread here

I am so sorry to hear after all your hard work that she was not able to make it.

Losing a beloved pet is never easy.

I lost a few early on for similar reasons.

One thing is that she will have taught you so much that will benefit every snake in your collection, now and future, that you will be more prepared to help the next one.

It's harder to take because she was clearly getting over it too.
@ Bruce : it is true, I have learned so much, especially with the help of all you folks on here

    Steve:

I'm really sorry to hear about that.

I know how much effort and expense you invested in trying to give her a fighting chance.

It speaks highly of you that you did everything you could to get her the proper care.

    Take care,

    Craig

    Sorry for the loss

    Im curious though

    Did you guys culture?

Also, Chlorhexidine and Nolvasan ARE NOT THE SAME, and you dont want to get NOLVASAN, aka Chlorhexidine Diacetate on an animal or into their mouths as far as I know. The Chlorhexidine Gluconate is different though.

    Keep your chin up

Re: Our little girl didn't make it
@2kdime back in the beginning of july, when I first discovered an early sign of an ri they did not culture and they put her on fortaz. After the treatment was finished she seemed a little better, but then suddenly got worse, I took her in and they did culture and prescribed all the meds. The bottle I had said Nolvasan, it had to be diluted 20:1 and they told me to swab out her mouth daily. The vet tech is the one who said it was the same as chlorhexadine. . . I was just repeating what I had heard. . .
