    how fun are corns?
So since my mom wont let me get any bps till I move out due to their girth I have been looking into other snakes to breed for the time being and of course corns pop in there. That and hoggies. Corns have just as many morphs if not more than bps and look pretty cool so my question is how fun are they to keep and are they easy to breed?

Corns are super fun animals! They are awake during the day time and generally hide less often. You get to watch them more and they seem more willing to make use of space if you give it to them! I consider them easier than bps, fewer feeding issues! The big difference in corn breeding is they need the cool down time before breeding, I'd look into that in a little more detail, but other than that they are pretty easy!

Yeah I planned on doing some research first. I'm checking out genetics at the moment. I'm leaning towards a anery, butter, motley, albino, and lavander....maybe a ghost two.

In my experience, corns are very fun and interesting little snakes. They tend to be very friendly, handlable, readily take food and are very easy to breed. Not to leave out the fact they have so many cool morphs! I sometimes really regret selling mine..
    I would highly reccomend them.

Corns are my favorites :) I have 3 currently, and they are all sweethearts. My first corn I ever had (sadly an escapee that my cat found) used to sit in the hood of my hoodie ALL DAY. He'd sit his head on my shoulder and not move. He also liked to watch tv. If I held him while watching tv, he'd get comfortable in my hands and then watch. They have poor eyesight, so he probably was just fascinated by the moving colors. I regret his escape, but I am working with my new corns and I am probably going to breed them eventually just as a hobby since I've got a lot of cool hets. Their visible morphs are Anery, Lavender, and normal Motley. I'll probably buy another corn at the next expo, and it will be a tequila sunrise. Hopefully female, since I've got two boys and a girl now. So my odds need to be evened out ;)

Corns are very easy to care for, and like you said there are many morphs of them. Do yourself a favor though, and check out adult pictures of them as well as babies. Many of them end up looking drastically different as adults.

Be aware, they can get on the longer side (5+ feet) in some cases.

Corns are an excellent choice and by far my favorite snake. There are soooo many colors and patterns, the sky's really the limit. Best of all they are affordable for the most part. You won't spend the price of a brand new car on a good morph.

I can't really comment other than what has already been said, but I will warn you (and your mother). Their poo easily rivals cat poo for potency. Its horrible! My corns love destroying their tubs and smearing it all around before I get a chance to clean them out. :rage:

Corns definitely are great snakes. But the big difference between them and Balls is that Corns have a much faster metabolism, requiring you to clean up runny, smelly piles of processed mice almost daily...That's their only drawback, to me.

Corns are the best! A little feisty and quick when small, but they really chill out as adults and can be just as sweet and handleable as BPs. And yes, the poo can smell, but if you feed them rats instead of mice that can help, and just make sure you spot clean daily.

My favorite morphs are the Bloodred, Amel, Butter, and Snow. :) I once had 5 corns, but now only one remains (thanks alot stupid economy). When things get better, I WILL be getting at least one more. :D

Is this with just younger corns?

I have an adult corn, purchased her as an adult so I am not even sure what her age would be and she is rather clean. She takes a number 2 maybe twice a month and I feed her a large mouse or small rat every 11 days or so.

    Just curious

I love my corn! I've got a snow, and I've had her for over ten years. VERY low maintenance. The only drawback (as already mentioned) is that they do poop a lot. Be prepared to clean cages. Otherwise than that it's just about as care free as a pet can get. Most of them can spend an entire lifetime in a 20 long aquarium without any problems.

The best way to tell you how fun corns are is this. Take the word fun, Find a word that is greater than fun and times that by 100
