My New Display Cages from River Bend Reptiles
Picked these up last week from River Bend Reptiles. I have them stacked on top of each other. At the moment I have 40watt red bulbs in them on a dimmer for the two bottom cages. They act as a UTH for the cage above them. I have a heating pad under the bottom cage between ceramic tiles. When I get some more money I will pick up another thermostat and go with flexwatt heating. Right now the temps are steady 88-92 on the hot and 81-85 on the cool depending on the room temps.
These cages are great. They hold temps and humidity great. They are super light and easy to clean.

What size did you get and how much did they charge to ship them?

They are really nice looking and a good price. I wish they were closer. I have 4 4ft boaphiles and they are so light that shipping can't be that bad.

Their website was down for most of the day. It is back up now. So if any of you are interested here is their site again.

What's the verdict on having your heat bulbs exposed like that? Can that be a potential hazard to a snake?

I have been researching display cages and so far the boaphile has been my #1 choice but the price on these makes them more attractive, other than the exposed bulb.

I would either remove, unplug, or box off the fixture and use a che with the fixture if it were for a snake.
If I used it for my beardie a nice mega-ray would work!

I have them on a dimmer at the moment. In the next day I will be switching the bulbs out for some flexwatt heat tape I just got.

Flexwatt for sure and I know how brutal Indiana winters can be (unless they have their own 80f room) I would also install a radiant heat panel in there to help with inside temps, probably the 80 watt. I have the 40 watt in my 30" and its fine and the 80 watt in the 48". It's controlled by a thermostat so it's nice to have the 80 watts if needed.

Correction....since you have 3 you could go with the 40watt's, the flexwatt on the one above will help with heat on the lower one and the middle one will be warmer.

Funny thing is they do practically have their own room with high temps. We live in a 2 story 2200 sq ft house and there is only one thermostat to control both floors and that's on the first floor. So it is Always hotter upstairs.
