    What to name her?!
As many I'm sure know already, I got my first ball python today! (My parents are so nice letting me buy her today instead of in January!) And I don't know what to name her!
I was going to go with an anime theme for my reptiles,(I planned on getting a male and naming him Matsuda, but I got a female. XD) However,
I do like names themed off of fictional characters.(however Scout doesn't have a name based of anything)
But I do have my bearded dragon Riza named after the character Riza Hawkeye from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist
Boga my Crested Gecko, named after the veractail(Giant green lizard type thing that Obi-wan rode) from Star Wars III
And my sister has Kess the crested gecko named after the Star Trek character.
    I prefer stronger female names...
hm... I have an idea of one.. I'll see what my sis thinks of it.
The name I JUST thought of was Belana Torez from Star Trek.
But I'm open to any suggestions!
Here are some pics of her: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...=1#post1625975

How about Tohru from Fruits Basket? Very sweet and kind, but equally independent and strong.

How do you pronounce that? Toe-roo or Tour-roo?

My sister is liking Belana as well, but I'm looking for more names!
    Thanks for all the suggestions!
Heh, I really just got into anime in November. >< But the main 5 I've seen are: Fullmetal Alchemist Original Series, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Black Butler, Death Note, and Hetalia: Axis Powers!.
I don't know if I had said it already, but I'd have no problem finding a boy name for a snake, but a girl's name is a completely different story! XD

Mononoke- Cute, but that seems more fit for a wolf. xD I forgot about all the Hayao Miyazaki(sp??) film's main girls! There's Sophie, from Howls, but I don't know if I like Sophie for a snake name...May,(I actually like that name and it is a popular anime girl's name. May from My Neighbor Totoro, Mai from Avatar The Last Airbender, May from Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood, ) Therru from Tales from Earthsea(pronounced Tear-roo), not naming her Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service,
Um... so I have May, Sophie, Therru...
I think I like May best out of all of those. Most of the Mays I know of are pretty tough, with a softer outer shell. Toru isn't bad either, but I don't think that really fits my girl too well.

As far as Sakura from Naruto goes, I don't really like Naruto...Just my personal preference. :3 Nothing against it, just not for me.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm open to more though!

:D Ball pythons being the shy sweeties they are, for an anime name I think more along the lines of Hinata :P Adorable, beautiful, but still can kick some serious butt when she needs to! :O Even though I know you wanted 'strong' female names.. I consider her a strong female..in a different way. XD She fights through her SERIOUS EMOTIONAL ISSUES hahahaha! LOL Nevermind, I might just use that name instead, ahaha!

But of course I can't stand Sakura, so I'm always going to like Hinata better anyway! :D

Ahh, all my favorite anime names are boys. I mostly like some of the classics (Trigun.. I can rewatch that series a million times over and never be bored of it<3) and they are mostly male dominant unfortunately!

Um, I liked Hikaru off of Ouran Highschool. ANY of the female characters from ANY of the phoenix wright games (Mia, Maya, Franziska, Emma, all so excellent)

hey, friendly advice here, you can take it as you want :gj:

I wouldn't name a pet something that I recently began to like... If in a couple months/years you outgrow it, your pet's name will be meeeeeh
I'm telling you this because I have MANY friends that while we were in High School were all into Anime and manga and all that stuff, but they ALL (except 1 in over 20) have outgrown that... NOW, I'm not saying that this is immature stuff, everybody likes whatever they want to like (Hell, a lot of people tell me that I'm an immature because at my soon to be 21 years I still find farts hilarious and still laugh about them, and HEY, I love Pokémon (the first season only, tho)), but you just being young, might get other interests or even get tired of it.

I seriously have a strong long list of names to consider for my BP (right now its at 18), but every single name is from something that I have loved for a long time, whether it be Mythology, Music, Movies, Games from my youth, etc...

    Just my :2cent::2cent:s

But, name the snake however you please! and Good luck, she is a cutie, and you already seem like an excellent owner! :gj:

I usually like naming pets after video game characters. Went with Cid from the FF series for my BP. As far as anime goes, Rem from Death Note was pretty cool. Yes Rem was a girl.

(I know Rem was a girl. XD A grey or white snake would work better for her though.)
