    Pied or Normal?
I'm almost certain this is just a possible het pied(normal) hatchling... it doesn't seem to have the crazy patterning... it's got this one white dot, but it's in the middle of a flame... just a super light patch?
But after chatting with a couple people I figure I'll get a bunch of opinions. If nothing else, it'll be fun to see the pictures of a baby, right?

Close up of the dot. Light spot or pied patch?

Like I said, I'm leaning towards not-a-pied. But the spot seems white but it's in a flame, but the pattern isn't as crazy as it should be.

The pictures are all pre-shed, he just hatched yesterday evening.

I'd say its just a possible het, I thought usually the white on pieds is surrounded by a bright orange, even if it was a extremely low white pied, the bright orange trim would be the give away

Well, I know it's a poss het pied, it's dad is definitely a het pied. Mom is a poss het pied. So all the babies should be either pied or possibly het pied.

I just had a few people say the teeny white dot meant it was a pied, so I figured "post it"!

Use google images and search low white pieds and you will see the patterns on pieds and what they look like :)

I don't know...that may be a stretch calling that a Pied. I sure wouldn't sell it as a Pied. Would be cool to breed it and find out it is though! It would be the lowest white Pied ever! :D

I have never seen a low white pied with that kind of pattern, so I think it'd be safe to call it a possible het. :)

I've had several snakes had that same white spot, it's not that uncommon.
Looking at pied pictures will show you that they do not have normal aliens, especially low white pieds typically have a really funky pattern, which Is my favorite kind of pied :)

I'd say that you could probably bank on it being a het. The pied gene brings in a lot or orange - even on the hets - and yours seems to have some nice orange on the sides. What does the belly look like? Does it have pied markers?

Thanks guys. Like i said, I don't really think it's a pied becaus it doesn't have the funky pattern. I prefer the low white pieds too so I've seen a lot of those funky squiggly patterns.

He does have the markers on his belly. His sister has a muddy belly with vague mayb markers, while he has very defined markers.

He's a cute little bugger. But sadly, he has no claim to fame. LOL. I still think it is fun to put his pic up though. He's a non-pied.

It's not a pied, as mentioned before there would be more orange color on the snake.

Certainly not a pied, but that is some mad blushing on the sides, there.

Do you mind flipping him off and taking a picture or two of his belly pattern? Particularly the mid-section and lower 1/2, down towards the tail?

Oooh I hope it is a het pied for you! Looks like it!

Just to show you, I have a wild caught normal who has a similar white spot

It sort of reminds me of one of the people in the myspace logo hehe

piebalds have their own sorta pattern and colour even if they're low white:

... What they said :) Pied isn't just about white patches. You can have a ball with white patches that isn't a pied ... Like this neat thing here:

    http://ballmorphs.blogspot.com/2009/...dox-ivory.html

... He kind of looks like a pied, but not quite -- if you look at his patches of "normal" color, they're also of "normal" pattern, which actually isn't the case in a piebald.

Pieds have a very cool and unique pattern all their own, which actually gets highlighted in the no-white animals since there's no pesky white to distract your eye. Here's my no-white pied girl:

Thanks everyone! This is what I was telling the peoples, but I said I'd post it(kind proving my points, lol).

Yes, that little white-ish patch is exactly what I think the white dot will look like hwen he grows up. I'll flip him 'off' and get some pics of his awesome belly for ya'll too.

    I appreciate all the comments!

Here is what a low white pied looks like.
Even a Pied with no white is identifiable by its pattern. Yours is definitly a normal or Possible Het.

SIDE NOTE: This crazy high white just crawled out of the egg....seriously, like 10 minutes ago.

OOF -- amazing. I LOVE high whites when they have that little dot of patternless color ... Mmmm :)

Side question; are those two pieds you have there related?
