    Any PC Gamers around??
I was wondering how many of the users here enjoy PC Gaming? What games are you guys playing, and what rigs are you running them on?

I'm going to be ordering parts for my new rig at the end of the month, the components are:

    Asus ROG Crosshair V Formula
AMD Phenom 2 X 4 965 ---> Place holder until the Bulldozer chips launch
Corsair XMS 3 1600 MHZ DDR 3 RAM 4GB Kit
    1TB Seagate Barracuda Sata 6GB/s 7200RPM HDD
XFX Radeon HD6970 2GB Graphics Card
    Mukii Asrock 750w PSU
    Coolermaster HAF 912 Advanced Chassis
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

What are the other Gamers out here playing on??

I just play World of Warcraft on my PC. My other gaming I do on my XBox 360. Mostly been playing through Fable 3 (again) lately, but yesterday I FINALLY found a copy of the original Portal (also on the disc is Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2. All for $30. Talk about a good deal!), so I plan on playing through that before picking up a copy of Portal 2.

HL 2 is really excellent! I've played Fable: The Lost Chapters on PC! It was cool too! I've always prefered pc gaming to consoles, the graphics are better and I can build and change my PC anytime I want!

I played World of Warcraft but am taking a break as it got boring after cata. I am currently waiting for Guild Wars 2 to come out and might try Star Wars also.

As for the PS3 - my game of choice right now is COD Black Ops.

I'm not really a player of first person shooters. I've just never found them interesting. I agree that there are good ones out there, I just personally prefer to play other games (that and I suck at them, playing Halo with the guys in my division during downtime in the shop made that VERY clear)

I run a gaming guild for Diablo 2 LoD and Sc2. I run both in my Windows 7, but had to get a patch online for D2 since it is such an old game. I also play Guild Wars.

I built my PC over 2 years ago but...
I got the AMD Phenom II 955(when it first came out) and OC to 3.8 GHZ
    8GB Gskill DDR3 1600
Sapphire 4830 ATI card (my weakest component by far)
    OCZ 120 GB SSD
about 1.5 TB of disk space on 3 other drives for random data
    ASUS M4a79t Deluxe Motherboard
    Antec 1k PSU
crappy cooler master 40 dollar case.

I score 7.2 as my windows "experience" score.

But since i only really play CSS, L4d, L4D2, WoW, and a few other older games on a crappy 19" monitor i can play them at full No prob even though my video sucks. When i built the tower i was given a very strict budget and I needed the 8GB of memory for a VM lab so all the money went into CPU, RAM, and Mobo.

I've been sticking to a lot of old games lately, though I play l4d, l4d2, or SC2 with my brother and some friends about once a week.

Right now I'm trying to figure out if I can get Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain to run on XP, and if so I need to find somewhere to pick up a disc.

Otherwise I'm going to try and talk the guys into picking up diablo 2 again, I can't wait for D3 to come out.

    PassionsPythons
    Intel Core2Extreme 6850
Gigabyte Mobo - Nothing special, just supports what I have.
    MSI G1 Fozr - nVidia GTS250 1GB Video
    4GB DDR2 800mhz
Xigmatec Mid Tower Gaming Case - 4 12mm Fans, No tools required, (all snap in)
    Xigmatec Black Knight CPU cooler
    Seagate Barracuda 10,000RPM 320GB HDD
    Antec - Pure Power 850watt PSU - Selectable plugin's

I really don't play any games anymore. Last game I played was COD:Black Ops, but I rarely play those online anymore because I just don't have time.

This PC is 4 years old and will run any game I have at max graphic capabilities with at least 60 FPS.

edit: Does anyone still care about 4 digit steam ID's?

Starcraft 2 is awesome, but my current PC is kinda lame so it won't run it, hence the need for an upgrade!

@Tcutting, if you dropped a 6850 or a 6870 in there you'd still have an amazing rig!

I like FPS games and RTS games, and some RPG games like Elder Scrolls Oblivion!!!

well... I used to play WoW, for 3 straight up years... AMAZING GAME, Excellent graphics considering how old it is. And it feels more than great to be one of your server's top DPS ret pallies (although too many newbies bombarding you with question:rofl:). I miss the Alliance trade chat...lol, going out filling out the map, buying critter pets and all that. I quitted right before the Ulduar Patch in Lich King.

I know I am just waiting for the right time to drop it in. I knew when I built it and started seeing the high stable OC marks I was running I had a good rig for a while. But I just bought 300 dollars in snakes... Video card was put on hold. Ohh and I still play the orig SC and SC2

I'm super stoked about Diablo 3!! Other than that I play the Neverwinter Nights, Guild Wars, Half-Life, Nights of the Old Republic, and Elder Scrolls. I'm too cheep to pay monthly subscriptions:rolleyes:

I'm on hold right now though because my PC is needing a new mother board and a few other things I would like to tweak. Right now I'm on a Mac Book Pro so I'm basically just playing Never winter nights and Borderlands. :)

I play UT99 still after 9 years I have yet to find a FPS that has the in your face fighting action like our modded servers provide.
The great thing is it doesn't take a super computer to run :P
Graphics are old school but the battles are epic.
My skin is a cobra and my in-game name has been cold_blooded for many years before I even owned a snake :P

Used to play tons of games but not much now. I played WoW for 5 years but Cata caused my guild to quit so I have no one to play with anymore. And I didn't feel like starting a new guild.

I play Halo Reach on 360 on occassion but that's it right now.

I have a very lame rig comparatively. Not even really a rig...just an Hp pavilion dv6000se. I only run Counterstrike source or TF2 on it. I need to upgrade to Win7 and I'll probably enjoy it better. haha. I bought this a loong time ago for school, mainly, so I can't complain too much.

Although not everything was good and cute. Because of that game, well MY ADDICTION to that game, I screwed up a big part of my life. I gained 70 pounds (which I'm still working on , and has been hard as hell), got on probation on Engineering School (which thankfully I got out, after leaving WoW of course), my girlfriend at that time dumped me (I wasn't giving her any attention :(), I screwed up my 'biological watch' (from being a dude who went to bed at 1-2 am, and waking up at 8-9 am, I became a loser who went to bed at 6-8 Am, and woke up at 2-3 Pm, which is now hard to get back, after a bit more than 2 years), I dropped Violin and Classical guitar classes (because they were the same day and time that most raids), Lost TONS of money (think $5-600, because of monthly play time and expansions), and obviously lost A LOT of time and social life. My worse and only addiction/vice in my life.

But no all was bad... :D
I made GREAT online and IRL friends whom I hang out with and all that. Had a lot of great times, which are now fond memories .

although, when Cataclysm came out, with all the banners, ads and commercials, I really got nostalgic and was about to return my current GF stopped me for good, and told me that I went back to WoW she'd break up with me (she knows what happened with my ex)

anyways, im not a computer nerd, just ran it thru my dad's iMac while in HighSchool, and once I entered College, I ran it thru my iMac

Mods, can you please delete my 2 previous posts, my internet is acting weird and for some reason I can't edit/delete my posts

I never got into Diablo, I guess the reason is that I don't really enjoy point and click games, which is why I didn't get into Dungeon Siege.

I still play the Original Starcraft, and Broodwars because my current machines Graphics Card died and it'd be a waste to put a powerful one in here since it'll just get held back by the CPU! Hence the reason for needing a new one.

I'm still thinking of maybe changing from the AMD setup to Intel's Sandy Bridge, but the components are a little more expensive!

I remember the good old days of Starcraft: Broodwar, I dished out serious PWNAGE to my friends at every LAN party we ever had...good times... I was also accused of using juvenile strategies, some know it as the Zergling Rush....Another favourite of mine was to turtle shell with Zerg(it can be done), and build up max population of Hydralisks all fully upgraded and march to grand victory against Battle Cruisers and Carriers...man they hated me!!

Sadly, when I tried to play on Battle.net I go Pwnd in my very first game in like 4 minutes by some Korean kid...I didn't have a very long or very successful battle.net career, lol!!

Hope no one minds me bumping up a slightly older topic.

I play a couple different things, mainly Starcraft II at the moment. Also known to be around UO once in a while, and I've been trying to get into other games as well (difficult without much cash :P)

If anyone wants to 1v1 in SC, you can add me - Character code 498 (:

I'm currently playing on an Alienware MX14. 8 gigs RAM, i5 processor with turbo up to 2.9 GHz, 750 HD, 1.5gig dedicated memory for graphics, etc... :D

Diablo 3 is going to rock. I wasted hundreds of hours of my life on D2. I still actually have live accounts on it but don't play hardly ever. I have a helluva gaming machine as it sits since I've been building computers and networks since I was very young. My AAS is in Network Administration and I'm finishing my BAS in the same starting in a few weeks. I've always had the skills but never had the paper (degree) to do what I enjoy. I make side cash now doing computer (hardware and software) repair and network setups and repair. It's childs play compared to what I really enjoy building enterprise solutions. But it helps pay the bills and support my snake habit. I finally got the opportunity to go back to school and haven't looked back since. I'll be upgrading my PC "just because" in a few more weeks :) Pretty damn stoked. I'll come back and post when I'm finished. It should be greazy fast. Well, mine is now but I recently helped my brother rebuild his PC and I can't have a slower PC than him!

    Regards,

    B

So, the beta testing has started or is about to start for Diablo 3. I know invites have been sent out already to some people. Me and the rest of the staff(newsies) at Diablofans.com are waiting for invites. I might not get one since I'm a mod manager over there, but am hopeful.

In the mean time, my gaming guild is still recruiting for East Realm for D2. Trying to get a good member base foundation for the release of D3.

Since I started this thread I figure I'm immune to thread necro, lol!!

I was never much of a Diablo fan, but I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Rig!! I don't have the cash for an Intel build, so I have to go AMD, but hey, if it plays games I'm down!

I haven't been online much because I killed my CPU woth a bad OC..hence the new rig coming soon!

Who has played BF3 and MW3, any opinions?? Also I got The Witcher 2 Limited Edition, I was wondering what's it like, before I play it, lol!!

Well, I don't have my spec's up at the moment, but I am a pc gamer.

Right now I'm spending most of my gaming on Skyrim and Battlefield 3. Honestly, I'm a Battlefield junkie, ever since titan maps on 2142.

Also, I'm getting ready with my 'gaming community' for the release of Star Wars The Old Republic. After that, I'll pretty much be hidden away, other than the time I have to spend with the girlfriend, and then I need to play some Warhammer 40k/Heavy Gear from time to time.
