Snapped some sweet photos a little while back. Gonna keep this girl forever; nothing better than keeping your first T:gj:

Aww, she's too cute! I've gotta say with all the avic pictures lately I'm really starting to want one :P I've always known myself to like terrestrials most, but your girl is so nice! Thanks for sharing!

I am the same way; terrestrials FTW! Although it is nice to at least have one arboreal :D. Pink toes are absolutely awesome. I hear people have issues with feeding sometimes, but I've never had one problem except refusal before molts. Pink toes are an awesome way to go for an arboreal:gj:

Used to handle her when she was smaller but don't anymore, she's quick enough to run onto my back to where I cannot reach :P. It does freak me out a little from time to time when she's super jumpy LOL:rofl:.

Beautiful girl Tiff!!! Nice pics too!!! I know what you mean about keeping for first T. I have got in and out of tarantulas quite a few times now and the ONLY one who made the cut every single time was the first T I ever got which was a plain old rose hair female - lol. She is the only T I have had from the begining and made the cut every time because she was my first :salute:

Thanks Jeff!! You just can't replace any "first" animal:gj:. I'm sure your Rosie is super meaningful to you, how old would she be now?

In all honesty I do not know? I know she has to be OLD though. She molted in like 2005 and then did not molt again until 2010.

    Nice one!!

They are quite different to handle compared to my terrestrials, but still are pretty sweet :). They walk (or sprint lol) so lightly!

Jeez, she must be old! That a HUGE time difference between molts. Probably even the first time I ever heard of a T molt 5 years later:P; then again I kinda drifted away from the other T forums:oops:.

Keep them very humid! Especially with avicularia and especially when they're young, humidity is VERY important to keep them hydrated. What's your setup like for the little guy?

I just moved him into a small-ish plastic container with small holes in it, and a piece of wood to take up some room in it... he was in a small vile that he came in from the store.

Try to keep humidity high by dribbling a bit of water down the side of the container. That serves 2 purposes: offers extra air humidity, and allows the spider to drink up the droplets that form on the wall. Has he eaten for you yet?
