Where do you buy your ball pythons?
So where do you? Online? or from breeders in your area?
-
Expos I go to one every month

Mostly online. It's rare that I find an animal that meets my high criteria at a show. I don't add animals to my collection unless they are the very best example of the morph that I can find.

I've bought 4 of my 5 online. I've gotten nice snakes, and all are thriving. The cost of shipping has been minimal in comparison to the cost of the snake, and it has given me much more of a selection.

Local breeder who was big in his day

what site do you buy it from and recommend
-
I buy from http://www.reptiliapacifica.com/ they are awesome to work with, prices are great, and animals are beautiful. I'm picking up another from them soon.
-
Kingsnake.com has snakes for sale. Fauna classified. Just a couple
-
All but 2 of mine were purchased from known breeders online. The best way is by getting to know the popular reptile classified sites like kingsnake.com. Then if you find something you like, research the seller on the BOI on faunaclassifieds.com or visit their website.
Buying online is a great way to go. You just need to be sure you're buying from someone who has a good reputation for having healthy, quality animals.
Be sure to ask how they ship. Either they use FedEx through their own account (they are certified) or they use SYR. Anything else is no longer allowed for snakes as far as I know. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Plus there are some some long time breeders on this site right here with great animals who advertise here and a few with their own websites.
All it takes is some lurking, searching, and getting to know how it all works and who the people are.

I used to travel alot for work, all over south easten US.
I would bring tub set ups with me, just in case I found anything in the town I was working in at the time :).

Most of the breeders my collection originated from.
And never ever forget about Robin and Heather from right here on BPnet! (I haven't purchased from them but I know they have amazing animals)
Oh and Deborah! ;)

Jonathan Hotz @ breederscircle.com is a BP GOD, i cannot even begin to explain how good of a BP i got from him..... plus, his BP's are guaranteed...
I dont plan on purchasing another BP for a long time, but in the near future i want my dream BP (bumble bee) and if i cant get it thru him, i wont be buying it. Period.

quick question, i have a friend who is in the dominican republic and i promised him i would bring him a quality BP next time i went down there, how do u get it on the plane? to my knowledge most airlines prohibit reptiles, only dogs and things like that can go on. How can i travel with a snake?
-
I get all my snakes from my friend who breeds them. They're all great quality animals and he takes SUPERB care of everything. He is responsible and only sells snakes that are eating and shedding well, and can give a complete background on every animal (and there are hundreds). :)

Re: Where do you buy your ball pythons?
FrankieCarbone, can you ship it (boxed) on the same flight you are taking? Check on that option. That way, the snake still travels with you on your flight.
-
no, i tried that before (although it was years back) it was continental airlines, and they said they sone do reptiles because of the fact that "passengers are often scared by them" But dogs and cats are ok for a extra 95 bucks. Thats why im asking, i worked at orlando international airport for 5 years, and i only seen dogs and cats shipped in flight, hell i even seen rifles, but never a reptile....
-
I have bought most of mine locally but only because I have such great guys to buy from
Florida Reptile Room (Alice)
Ben Seigal Reptiles
KellysBalls (Kelly & Art)
Metal Morphs (Chad)
Awesome animals everytime! And check my signature....I have spent a lot!! Dont tell my husband!! LOL

Re: Where do you buy your ball pythons?
I have gotten 8 of my ball pythons online(kingsnake)and the other 2 I got locally from craigslist.

Re: Where do you buy your ball pythons?
Now I usually purchase morphs from vendors at shows/expos because I can see the snake in person and examine it before I bring it home.
-
I have purchased animals online from multiple breeders, from a local reputable reptile shop (Twin Cities Reptiles), and at expos.
I've had 100% satisfaction from every transaction.
Reptile shows are hit or miss for having something that you're specifically looking for, but if you go to enough of them you'll probably come across something wonderful eventually.
-
Well, in a few weeks Im going to buy my first BP from our forumite dracovolans, who Locally is a quite re-know breeder!
-
I got my normal from a local reptile show. The other two have came from excellent breeders I found online:
The pinstripe came from Reptile Rapture
The bumblebee came from Mighty Morphs
Richard (from Reptile Rapture) & Jason (from Mighty Morphs) are both great people to do business with. The snakes are excellent quality, decent prices, and very good communications through email. I was very pleased with both of these guys. There's another breeder I tried dealing with (not going to say any names because I don't want to blast the guy online), but basically he tried to screw me out of a lot of money. Just put it this way....if the breeder refuses to send you a picture "because it's in shed" and keeps it for weeks and refuses to ship, don't deal with him. This guy tried putting me over the 45 day limit on the PayPal Buyer Protection plan so he could just keep the money and never send the snake (if he even had it to begin with!). With both Richard & Jason, the snakes were shipped in less than a week and both had pictures and answered all questions I had prior to purchasing. These babies are doing great! I recommend checking both of them out....you won't be disappointed!

Re: Where do you buy your ball pythons?
I have 2 from a friend and former breeder. 1 from Repticon ATL. And 2 from local CL ads.

Re: Where do you buy your ball pythons?
I don't have one yet, but I plan on buying one from a reptile expo in Jan./(Want to go to the one in 13 days, but I don't really want the temptation of a new buddy taunting me, whether snake or bearded dragon. XD)

Too many to list. I look for a particular look, and once I find it, I research the seller if I'm not already familiar with them.

You can't. Not legally.

You can't do that either. Find a breeder who ships and see if they'll ship it for you. It may involve CITES paperwork as well, I'm not sure what the "rules" are for shipping to the Dominican Republic.

Never heard of him. What is his guarantee? Many sellers offer health guarantees.
You're seriously limiting yourself if that's the only person you'll ever buy from! LOL

help
can anyone help me find a normal ball python? not having that much luck..
-
Re: Where do you buy your ball pythons?
proexotics.com has them from 20-60 dollars
-
Mostly local breeders at the monthly reptile expos (we have 4 within two hours of us each month :P ). Like the one person said, I like to be able to see them in person before buying them. Tim Koppenhofer (Special K Reptiles) has always done me right. I've also found some steals on CL too. I have a 2011 spider and normal produced by ScottNBecky (BP.net ID) and they are doing great!
I've also bought various reptiles (all at once) from a certain big name online breeder too and they left me very disappointed. I won't make that mistake again.
