The item may have already been sold, and they didn't puul their add. Happens all the time.
Or they haven't checked their email yet

It's Craigslist - what do you expect? It's not a hotbed of professional people posting there.

I wish this problem was only with Craigslist sellers. Unfortunately, there are breeders/sellers out there (no names but you know who they are!) who are notorious for poor communication and lack of business skills. It's frustrating! Just last month, I gave up on a purchase and walked away from the deal because of this problem. My money went to a different breeder instead.

One time I posted that I was rehoming about 20 or so breeding guppies. They were free.

I got about 60 responses in a half hour, no way was I going to write back to every single one. I took the ad down immediately though. The first person who emailed me got the guppies.

In retrospect I should have asked for a measly $5 or $10, and I would have had fewer inquiries.

It's an issue rampant in ALL venues of private sales. I can't say how many homeowners I have contacted through their own advertisements to rent or potentially buy their HOUSE...and receive no response either to e-mails sent or phone messages left. It's not just craigslist...not just reptiles...it's just the way things are everywhere.

If I have something posted on CL I check about every half hour unless Im busy. I too do not like being ignored...and I also dont like being accused of breeding an animal I am selling especially if they knew the specie they would understand they are extremely hard to breed in captivity but whatever.....

Sometimes the emails go straight to the spam folder (which a lot of people don't check) instead of their normal inbox for some reason though. I've had some things listed before (and luckily know to check my spam folder now)....sure enough, I've had quite a few people's emails start there.
So while I do agree that it is very annoying not getting a response....I just figure they either sold it and to forget about it or possibly my email went to their spam folder and they never saw it.

Majority of my responses end up in my spam folder which irritates me. I hate when people ignore me because they know I won't spend the million dollars they're asking for for a normal ball python, lol

Riiiight, when I sold my old truck I got about 50 responses between the time the ad went up and the next time I checked my email. I wasn't going to spend the time it would have taken to reply to each email individually. I sold the truck to the first person who emailed me something coherent and moved on with my life.

The least you could do is delete the ad when the item is sold..
