They look like something special to me...
So here are the hold backs that I hatched out a few months ago. These are something else. I took them to my buddy (breeder and owner of a shop here in Miami) and he told me that I better hold these back. This conversation was a few sheds ago and these are the results of holding these great looking females back.

    This used to be pink...

I'll try and get some good pics of mom tomorrow. That is where the white is stemming from on the alien heads.

I can understand that, but I have personally never seen pastels come out of the egg with pink on the pattern and ultimately turn white.

Pastels come put in variety of coloration. A lot of babies hatch with pink coloring to them till 1-2 sheds later.

The Pink is nothing new with hatchlings and then go away

I was waiting for someone else to say it first.. After you have hatched a few more clutches you will see the variation and the different colors. That's what pastels look like.

I've hatched pink babies and neon yellow babies. Babies with what appeared to have high white sides and banded pastels. Some with hooks, keyholes, alienheads, flames, you name it.

In the end.. Yours honestly just looks like a run of the mill pastel that unfortunately is already showing signs of early browning out.

Well, all a matter of opinion. My male (sire of the clutch and bought as a hatchling) never exhibited pink spots, nor does he have any white.

Mother has a distinct head spot and very obvious signs (now that I have looked into it) of low white Calicos.

These have shed 4+ times. And my breeder has the two male siblings (one with the same traits, one without)

I agree...Just looks like a nice pastel to me. Any snake with white on it will look pink out of the egg. Nice snake either way.

My pastel girl looked similar to yours but now thats shes over a year old shes lost all of that coloration. The worst part with my girl was she was bright as heck as a hatchling but she hit a year old and got super dark and ugly now:oops: I guess you'll just have to wait and see if there is something special going on with them.

No need to be like that. I was posting this so that I could get opinions, not harsh criticism.

Sire as a hatchling. 2 feedings in. No resemblance. Like I said, I'll get some good pictures of mom (weather permitting). I don't expect everyone to see it the same way (I read the toffee hatchling thread), but after taking these to a reputable breed here in South Florida and getting his opinion, I know there is something going on.

It isn't harsh criticism at all. I didn't day low quality pastel. I said run of the mill pastel. The top half of it's body is browner out already. I was making an observation which is obvious.

If it makes you feel better, one thing the new one has on the sire is much more blushing.. But there isn't anything "going on" with them. They can throw different colors and patterns every year or with every different dam they are put with. That's the beauty of snake patterns.

They aren't ugly or bad looking in any way. I'm just saying don't get your hopes up on anything special going on. There really are TONs of variation in pastels.

Look through as many images as you can on google and bing of pastel ball pythons and hatchling pastel ball pythons. You'll see.

I have and I am yet to see any with white. I disagree, sorry.

I agree with the others, it's not unusual for pastel hatchlings to have pinkish sides that turn to white after a few sheds.
It's what white snakes do :)

It is possible. The breeder did purchase the 2 male siblings. I will have access to them in the future.

I have a pastel that is a year older and not browned out and there is only these 3 alien heads that have white/grey

My pastel is 1000grams + and a year old.
He also has some white specs on his alien heads.

But um, well his head is turning white.
If you ever encounter this with your pastels,
    Hit me up.

    But I'd have to agree.
They do look like normal pastels.
Very nice pastels I'd pay good money for but,
    You never know,
A pastel dinker is not commonly heard of.
Enjoy your project and good luck.

    regards,

    Ernie.

Is it the pixelation coloration of the scales that your pointing out? That's normal for pastels. The dusting of the browned out scales mixed in with the still yellow/orange scales on top, white scales along the sides, brighter yellow scales along the outlines of the flames and alien heads, three eyed alien heads, a very pronounced "line" of separation between the lighter lower side coloration and the upper side coloration where it's always darker on a pastel.. Etc etc..

All these things are normal. Including random white spots like this..

    http://tapatalk.com/mu/4c1017c2-4775-9140.jpg

And vanilla coloration with more white in areas such as this blonde pastel here..

    http://tapatalk.com/mu/4c1017c2-47b8-7ae0.jpg

Some have almost no blushing or flames at all such as this.. This dark pastel hatched a solid pink color with the black markings. It did not hatch early and it did absorb all the yolk. After her first shed she got darker and darker. Fat and healthy, she hit 1000 grams by 16 months of age. Before long she was solid dark orange. So much for hatching pink. Her siblings all stayed yellow.

    http://tapatalk.com/mu/4c1017c2-4835-1580.jpg

Others are so blushed out that they may be mistaken for super pastels as babies.

The point is, pastels are one of the most variable morphs out there.

I say keep them and in a few years breed them and see. Worst case you have some adult pastels. :gj:

They look like normal pastels to me. It is hard to capture what you see in person in a pic. if you feel there is something going on with them then hold back and breed to prove it out. No ones saying they are bad or that your crazy for thinking there something there not. They are just explaining how much pastels can differ.
This is one of our pastel girls and one of our favorites.

She was from a pastel to a normal breeding. No one believes us that's she's just a pastel. She's crazy yellow with jet black and crazy flames and blushing. Well we just bought her father.
    http://tapatalk.com/mu/c6e4e1de-123c-a19a.jpg

He's a graziani pastel. He's really nothing special. The breeder we got him from said that all the babies he sired looked like our girl . So this just shows how different they can be. So if you see something special about them, then breed to prove it out. Good luck!

It sucks to get your hopes up only to find out later. You've asked everyone's opinions and they've given it to you.
They are very pretty girls. And holding them back is a great idea. 1. If you think there's something there. Breed it and prove it.
    2. Who doesn't need more female pastels?

I agree with everyone above, You may have taken it to your "reputable breeder" locally but you asked people what they think and the entire community that responded say nothing special. So you either believe your reputable breeder or the 15 people on here thats up to you.

It sounds like your upset because everyone disagrees with what you were "hoping" for. And dont know what everyone else thinks but I dont believe in visual "Markers." Snakes either carry the genes or they dont.

Again heres a couple of my pastels. My female has TONS of white on her and I doubt shes anything special but I will be breeding her this upcoming season to see if she throws more high whites.

Same girl as above, just a more professional picture
    http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/...60/TRINITY.jpg

Younger pastel female with above female. You can see how white she is compared to the more "yellow" pastel.
