My new bp from Herp World Expo
It was my very first expo today, somehow I ended up getting a bp :P. This is my second snake ever. It was sold as a normal female for 25. 3 weeks old, 73g. I got her because I liked the banding. The breeder said she has some granite? I can't really tell cause I'm not skilled enough in morphs. The siblings to this were some lessers with a hidden gene and some soul suckers. I should've taken pics of them but I was getting annoyed with the crowds and wanted to leave. Anyways I took some quick shots before letting her settle. I am considering naming her Dazzle.

Oh yea and I also got some frozen rat fuzzies from Layne Labs, 50 pack for $22. I think the woman helping me miscalculated because each one was priced at 75 cents.

More pics after she settles and has her first meal with me. Enjoy!

Welcome to the addiction... And FYI.
    That's one gorgeous ball.
    Very unique and interesting pattern.

    Congrats!

Thanks! I think this addiction needs to be put on pause for now. Haha! One male and one female sounds good for the meantime. She did look a bit different than "normal" and the breeder knew that when I was asking him and just wanted to sell it for a normal price. I guess he had other more important morphs he was working on. Maybe one day I'll learn how to breed bps.

That's a gorgeous little animal there! Was that from Keo's table I'm assuming then, with the soul suckers being siblings?

Thanks everyone! Too bad I can't afford a morph but I guess a pair of normals is a good way to start off on this addiction eh? :) I can't wait to take more pics of her after she settles and eats!

Yes, I got it from Keo. His normals were the best looking ones at the expo and at a good price. The soul suckers and lessers were so pretty.

granite is a good morph. the speckling on the side suggests that it is a granite. for all the things to look for in a granite check out the hunters guide to morphs. good price, and she's beautiful!

Yeh I did look at the Hunter's Guide and noticed some speckling on the sides but it doesn't seem as prominent as the pics in the guide. Would she still be just a normal or is she considered a granite? Sorry for being such a noob :P

it doesnt have to look exactly like the pics in the guide. and its okay im a noob too :). the three that i have, i have obtained in the past....month and a half or so. got my first one (a granite) and, as many people, was addicted immediatly.

personally, i would call her a granite. The only way (that i know of) to be sure that she is a genetic granite would be to breed her with a normal and see if you get granite babies.

but whether she's a granite or not. shes still awesome!

Oh cool! I guess I got a granite after all! I've been calling her a normal all this time. Maybe in a few years I will breed her to my normal male and see if she's genetic. Do you have pics of your own granite so I can compare? Thanks!
