What is wrong with people?

Well, today Bob had to go to philly for school. ok. fine, it was just hot as poop.

So he came home and got his jeep keys to go get his car from tunkhannock and I decided I wanted to go to. cool.

We get there and someone STOLE his license plate. WTF. So he calls the Staties and fills out a report for a stolen plate blah blah. and gets an affidavit from the trooper that he can drive the car without the plate, ( in other words if he gets pulled over for not having a plate he was to give the officer the name and number of the trooper to him.)

OK, so we get that straightned out and head to BK for food, and they FORGOT Bobs straw...on the hottest day of the year. sure, fine, dandy.

So were on the way home and some crazy, stupid idiot comes flyin up behind us with his high beams on ( but its still light out) and trys to cut us off on the drivers side and starts screamin "oh what you think you're a tough guy drivin without a license plate?!?!?!" and all kinds of other nasty and just flat out rude things. OK THATS COOL.

So we keep goin and we have to stop at another stop sign and he pulls up on my side screamin, so we pull over and we both get out, so Im screamin at this stupid ass and so is Bob and this guy thinks hes all tough sayin hes gonna beat our ass or something, so Bob starts walkin over and he flips us the bird and speeds away.

But Bob got the stupid morons license plate and has a report against him too. So haha to that guy, If you were such a tough guy why did you drive away like a little :cens0r:? Because Im tellin you, if you were actually man enough to get out of your car.,...you would have had a really bad day, just because you had to open your mouth and be tough.

Ok so then this guy that was behind the crazy guy, hes in a minivan, he pulls next to us and was all nice like "Do ya need anything, you guys alright?" So its nice to know that there are some normal/nice people still in the world.

But seriously....like WTF is with people? What is your problem? Is your life so boring you have to pretend to be someone your not and try to be cool and/or badass? GET OVER YOURSELF.




Sorry, had to rant. Its been a difficult day.

I feel ya. I'm trying to go to medical school, but the closer I get to it the more doubtful I get about whether or not I want to help EVERYBODY since there seems to be an epidemic of stupidity. But then I have to remember that people like your minivan guy still exist and they deserve to be treated well.

If it makes you feel any better, my car decided not to completely engage its e-brake on an incline in a parking garage and haphazardly rolled backwards into the guardrail today. smashed my light and made some happy little gouges where the wire of the fence rubbed it and dislodged the bumper cover.. To top it off I had a cop following me the whole way home.. but at least he didn't try to pull me over.

Hope tomorrow goes better for you guys!

I feel for you. I encountered similar once from someone who was offended by my bumper sticker with the name of the sportsmen's club I belonged to, where we went to massacre paper targets and metal spinners. In my case a trooper pulled up, asked what the problem was, and after listening in a suitably bored fashion while the idiot ranted shooed the offender on her way.

Any more, I don't respond to asshats.

1) I know that I'm outnumbered. They are Legion for they are many.

2) A snake or an opossum is about as low as I'll go on the I.Q. chart to try to teach good manners.

3) Life is too short to waste interacting with the intentionally ignorant.

4) I don't want to be reminded of and begin to complicate the implications of these being members of my own species.

5) Most importantly, I can't change them. After 55 years, I know a lost cause when I see it. I've got better things to do with my time.

I mean, dont get me wrong, this guy had me so angry I was out of the car before it was even stopped all the way...and I may be a 19 year old girl, but Ive been in my share of "altercations" and Ive managed to restrain myself for about 3 years..but that guy had my blood boiling....and it takes alot to do that, Ive become a very patient person in my last 2 HS years. Today I almost lost it, and that guy would have been in a world of hurt. I mean he wasnt threatening me, but he was threatening my fiance...and thats a bad decision. So I went to cross the road ( a little before Bob did) and pull this dude out of his window. Thinking about it now, Im glad he left before I got there because I dont want to be that person anymore.

I know how you feel! We must have some the WORST drivers in world here. Our taxi drivers think they're on the set of Top Gun for cars, since they drive like fighter pilots. And don't forget the people in BMW's that have a certificate of ownership of every stretch of road in the country, I mean seriously how dare you drive in front of them in a Mazda or a Ford....

Sadly from your post it seems the increasing numbers of sub standard people is a global problem not just a local one...

People act like a bunch of wild animals sometimes, it's really kind of sad.
No common courtesy, no respect. It's not just where you live , it's everywhere.

My dad was a truck driver for a long time, he had encounters like this sometimes too. I just never thought people would be so spastic over things. lol

As mentioned, its sad were are all the same species.

Even here in peaceful Amish country we get retards. Just gotta let it go most of the time, or beat them at thier own game. I usually try to have fun with people when they do stupid crap like that. Sarcasm and awkward silences are your allies!

The other day we drove down to the store to show a lady our hatchling cornsnakes she was interested in. While we were outside the store another lady pulled up and saw us talking with a couple tubs sitting on the curb. We informed her what we had so she wouldn't be freaked out if she came over. She was curious and wanted to see and I showed her the tub with 6 baby corns in it. The lid never came off. She went in the store, did her business and left. A few minutes later a cop pulls up. A few blocks away she flagged down the cop and told him there were people outside the store with dangerous reptiles scaring people. Cop thought it was halarious when he saw it was us (we've met before, very small town) and what we had.

I get road rage pretty easily when people do stupid crap, mainly tailgating or leaving thier brights on. One that got the better of me here recently was when we were driving at night and this lady (or should I say girl, she was in her teens) was literally less than 5 feet off my bumper with her brights on driving down the highway at 55-60mph. She kept flashing her lights too, although she could have passed me numerous times. I even slowed up to get her to pass a couple times. Then after a few brake checks she didn't get the hint. I sped up to 20mph over the speed limit to gain some distance from her. She got right back on my tail. This was intentional, not just stupidity. After being blinded for 25 miles of this crap we got to town. First parking spot I saw I pulled over and let her pass and pulled right back out and got behind her. She knew exactly what I was doing after I got behind her and she led me all over the alleys in town trying to lose me. After she got back out on the highway she thought it was game over and tried to outrun me. Her little Ford Focus didn't stand a chance against my Cobalt and I followed her the same way she followed me and I even pulled up beside her a couple times when we had two lanes to yell at her for an inconsiderate *word I can't say here*. I followed her all the way to her home, which is only a couple miles from our house. After she pulled into her driveway I spun my tires and left. I don't know her name, but I see her around town a lot and she has yet to tailgate me again. Hopefully she has learned that its very rude and dangerous.

I know what you mean about stupid people. Working in security, I see them sometimes (less now that I do security for a major company, but I work nights and that's when the crazies seem to come out).

No sir, you can't park here. The reason why is that this is private parking for the employees that work in this building. You don't work here, thus, you cannot park here. Sir, I am not budging on this issue. Where are you supposed to park now? Well, considering that there's a Lowes with a nice big parking lot RIGHT across the street... I couldn't tell you.

Yes, the ATM in the building is inaccessable while construction is going on. No, I am not going to let you into the building in another door to get to it. What are you supposed to do now? Well, finding a different ATM would probably be smart. You don't want to pay the fees of a different one? Are you really so cheap that you won't pay a buck fifty?

*Headdesk* Some people are just plain stupid. And need to learn respect. And I REALLY hate when people start trying to yell at me when I'm doing my job. I'm security, it's my JOB to not let you on the complex or in the building if you don't work here.

The government totally needs to make a standardized test out there, and you have to pass if you want to ever have kids.

... And Common Courtesy and Decency need to be one part of it.

He merges almost right into us, we are going at 80 MPH ON THE SIDE half into the grass!!!!!!

im not really sure where NEPA is unless it stand for north east Pennsylvania lol. there are way too many crazies out there. luckily, i live in a state where i can obtain a permit and conceal carry everywhere i go in the state. just waiting for someone to try to force me to the side of the road with my family in the car. they wont know what hit 'em till a .40 hollowpoint rips through them.

i know not everyone has the same views with LEGALLY CARRIED weapons as i do but something you can agree with is....its population control for the next episode of "when the crazies attack" lol

and sorry to change the subject to guns but jamieh, the permit price her in PA dropped to $20 between the time that i applied for mine, and the time that i actually went and paid for it and picked it up. took a week and a half. i applied on a friday, and by monday they had already done my background check. statistically, in areas where gun sales rise, crime drops. btw, do you and bob go to the show in hamburg?

Or don't they check your ability to actually hit a target before giving you a permit to carry? No matter, with hollow points you don't have to get a bullseye, right?

Ok, Wilomn Im going to admit something here, I have to read your posts at least 3 times to understand them, ( and sometimes I still dont understand somethings) but Im not uneducated or have a low IQ by any means. My point being...I wish I could write like you :oops: and frankly I dont understand why....I just admire it. ( By the way..How has everything been going for you?? I hope very well, it cannot be easy being in your position.)


Anyway, from the above text...I hope that since I said that I am eager to get my concealed permit that you ( or anyone else ) think that Im going to be going around bragging about how I could murder some poor unsuspecting person...The only reason I want it is for personal protection...If I have a crazy/drunk/drugged out 250lb man coming at me in a threating manner I want to be able to protect myself. I dont want a gun and a permit for bragging rights, and to walk around like Im so much better than anyone else. Which, quite sadly, I know a few people that those reasons were the only for getting their permit.

All state laws specify that "You MUST be in fear of your life OR defending someone's life. An ignorant, self centered driver cannot justifiably be shot at! Besides the fact that I doubt many of you have not done any tactical shooting, much less from a moving vehicle. Its not as easy as it looks in the movies. Then when (not if) you miss and hit someone else, you now can be legally shot by them for putting them in fear of their life but disarming in their direction;)
I could go on and on about this subject but it will probably fall on def ears OR on a hardened below the belt ego that thinks it needs inflation.

The reason for my little winky face was to try and make it a joke....I mean really, we both have gone through training ( none of it "tactical" however ) and I agree people dont realize that shooting is harder than it looks. I hear you, I know the law. I studied it for 3 years ( highschool but still)

I mean..really? We arent that uneducated and ignorant to the facts, or common sense. If my comment came of egotistical or any other way than a joke Im sorry and would like to clear that up. Meaning that yes we ( well him, me in a year) have our concealed permits, yes he does ( and I will ) carry our weapons, NO we will not just pull them out like 1/2 of the raving fools with guns these days. It's not the guys like you who give pause for thought. You've obviously given thought, done some research, utilized more than a single struggling oxygen deprived brain cell, to decide what and how to carry. Well done. Really. Polar opposite of the guy bragging about waiting to commit murder.

I don't have problem with guns, nor how they're carried. It's just the people who have them that give me food for thought. Sometimes it's kinda scary.

Bad guys and idiots will always do what they shouldn't, be it carrying concealed or possessing at all. Good guys will suffer for it. Same in the reptile world. Same in many arenas.

I'm just glad there are guys like you out there to balance the scale. Thanks.

ok, i did not intend for people to look so far into my post. I DONT sit back and wait for some schmuck that doesnt know how to drive to run me off the road to shoot him. It wasnt intended to be "bragging about waiting to commit murder". My statement "force me to the side of the road with my family in the car." wasnt talking about people who cant drive, it was referencing someone that may mistake my vehicle with some idiot they had a confrontation with before and feel like "forcing" them to the side of the road to jerk them out of the car and beat the hell out of them, and they have the wrong people but dont take the time to notice. I wouldn't pull my weapon out and flash it to intimidate anyone, or try to shoot someone while im trying to drive. I would only pull my weapon in the case where i did fear for my life or feared for the life of someone else.

I dont carry my weapon to feel like i have a bigger penis than someone else. This is one reason why i carry it concealed and not out for everyone to see. I dont like someone treating me a certain way just because im carrying. I dont want anyone to fear me. Or to single me out because im carrying a weapon.

to pitontheprowl, I have done tactical shooting, but you are right, i havent done it from a moving vehicle. I also wouldnt be trying to shoot from a moving vehicle.

I live in Texas, so my views on gun carry are "if you're going to be responsible, go right ahead". I know people that hunt. I would love to go deer hunting in the future. I know how to shoot a 9mm and a shotgun (both from military training). I used to be proficient with a compound bow (I need to get back in practice).

But I will be the first to admit that not everyone should be allowed to handle a gun. Unfortunately, any gun laws just make it harder for law abiding citizens to own one, and criminals won't be affected (seriously, they aren't following the law anyways, why would more laws change that?).

And this thread should totally be renamed the 'rant about stupid people' thread.

Note: Yes, I am female. I never was very girly growing up. At all.

I've had firearms for years. In that time I have encountered numerous loud, obnoxious, mouthy jackasses--particularly when I tended bar. In that time I never discharged the weapon in defense and drew my gun only once, when an inebriated jerk came in and pulled a knife. He decided to go upon his way posthaste. The barrel of a 45 Colt New Service, my under the bar weapon of choice, has a mighty sobering hole at the business end.

I would never shoot someone for being an obnoxious jackass. Heck, most of my friends are obnoxious jackasses and I can be an obnoxious jackass at times. But if it comes down to a real threat to my life it's hooray for me and sucks to be you all the way. I figure that is what weapons are made for--actual threats to ones life, not shooing off annoyances.
