want to hear about any reptile/ snake nuisance issues you've been through
In light of the responses I got last time, I've decided to post again. This time, I'm hoping you all would be willing to share some of your stories with me. I'm wondering if you know of or have been through any reptile or snake nuisance issues and you'd be willing to tell me about them. I'm trying to gather stories for research. Your responses would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I can see where this one is going...

There is NO possible good outcome from anyone who keeps and loves reptiles if you deal with this person.
If it's attention you want, chat her up. If it's sensationalism you're addicted to, contact her, If it's no concern of yours what anyone thinks of reptile keepers, contact her.
However, IF you DO care about our hobby and our ability to keep those scaly friends of ours, avoiding ANY contact with her or any of her affiliates is HIGHLY recommended.
Is it worth being screwed for a few minutes of TV time on a show that cares for nothing but ratings? I'd say no. Hopefully everyone here will too.

One time, I had this critter bothering the hell out of me. It kept making all this noise and it wouldn't leave me alone. At first I couldn't figure out what the hell it was, cuz after all, what could possibly be THAT annoying? But then, after researching a little bit, I found out that as much as I hated to admit it, this pest was indeed human.
Oh, you wanted one about ACTUAL snakes? Insert here a bunch of words that would likely get me kicked off the site.

Reptile nuisances I've recently encountered:
1) None of the large pet store chains around here sell Flexwatt.
2) Darthie crapped in his water bowl again.

My snakes have taken over. They are using my dwelling as a central hub to command a starfleet of intergalactic serpents. I'm sure this counts?

You might as well go else where, or better yet don't make this show. Everyone here is sick of TVs that show reptiles in a bad light which seems to be exactly what you are looking for. We have enough trouble with the media without you helping to create more.

Re: want to hear about any reptile/ snake nuisance issues you've been through
the only real nuisance I have to deal with is I keep getting charged every month for this crap TV channel animal planet. and for some reason even though it's degraded into sensationalized garbage programming with no more merit than jerry Springer I haven't brought myself to cancel it for some strange reason:confused:.
oh ya and the snakes always waiting till the day after cleaning day to poop in there bins thing to. Lol
instead of trying to produce the next Billy the exterminator, or animal cops, or animal hoarders, or ect,ect,ect......
......Why don’t you try to produce some type of educational documentary using constructive information provided by professional herpetologists or biologists. You could corner that market; I for one haven’t seen a new show like that for years
:(

The only nuisance here are people like you trying to give this hobby a bad name. Don't we struggle enough with all the bans that are constantly being put forth?????? Why don't you do as suggested and do an educational show?

That takes work. You can't just let some dimwitted buffoon run loose making a spectacle of itself IF you're after intelligent programming.
You'd have to have writers that can actually write, directors who can actually direct, producers who care about more than what advertisers will pay and a premise that caters to something other than the general stupidity that is the common denominator of the average viewer this person is trying to virtually masturbate.
Basically, you'd have to have some folks with both skill and intelligence, both of which are most assuredly lacking in almost ALL programming of the sort which this person whores herself out for. And yes I meant whore. You're selling yourself for money. You get NO respect, you do things that thinking caring beings would not (shy of dire necessity and then it wouldn't be with the pride you seem to take) and you try, failing miserably here at least, to sugar coat what you KNOW is a crock of crap.
Go away. Stay away. Speaking only for myself, you're not wanted here if this is the only reason for your presence. Catch a clue. Figure out what it means. Then, either realize that whoring ain't all it's cracked up to be, or hit the road.

This is a site for people who really, really love snakes. Surely they must have stories about how much they hate snakes.
Makes perfect sense to me, guys.
-
If you really want to hear interesting TRUE life stories of interactions between people and wild herps, then I have a few, but if you're a troll looking for stories that can help further the propaganda war that us responsible herp owners are already fighting, then I'm pretty sure you're on the wrong forum...Troll MOAR, but not on this forum!!

X 1000 - Trolls can have a lot more fun on other forums....
-
I don't think it's a troll because in the last thread, she seemed quite serious about it. Not a troll. Just ignorant, illogical and pushy.
-
Maybe not a troll in the true sense, but her effect is the same...irritation. It like someone coming onto a fishing forum asking people for stories about keeping undersize fish...
-
This is so sad.. I read her first thread also. I can only hope that if these terrible shows, which continue to spew lie after lie, contribute to the thousands of us who own reptiles losing our rights as pet owners, then forgive my saying this.... An eye for an eye.. I hope everyone who was involved, from the politicians, to the sensationalist groups like PETA and HSUS, to the producers of these shows, to all the supporters in between.... Also lose their rights to something they love dearly.
Terrible thing to say I know, and it would affect us more considering we would lose even more, but I feel the reptile owners should not be the only ones penalized for no good reason.
Sorry for the run-on sentence.
-
You mean like forbidding the politicians that make these laws to own money? Cuz that seems to be all they care about. Which is ironic, considering the immense economic effects the bans have. But whatever.
-
How about a show on the nonsense reptile owners have to deal with from people with irrational phobias? That professor in [what, was it GA?] comes to mind.

Re: want to hear about any reptile/ snake nuisance issues you've been through
I am being constantly plagued by giant green flying lizard men with scaly armored skin, long serrated tails, and blood dripping 4000 mm fangs protruding from their gnarly jaws. These lizard men contantly fly out of the man holes on my street at night and terrorize innocent members of the public by carrying them off into the night to devor them. I saw one peering into my window one time and I feared for my life. Speculative reports also state that these lizard men may be hybridizing with man eating super Burm x Afrock hybrids from the Florida everglades to create yet an even deadlier strain of man eating beast that may be virtually unstoppable.

Gathering stories for "research" with the name castme4tv...
-
Huh, I must have missed the other thread? My snakes are VERY polite. Just yesterday, Edgar the bee gave me a nice neck massage. He's very thoughtful that way.
But really, posting on a board full of snake lovers, looking for stories about how DANGEROUS and SCARY snakes are....maybe not the best approach? I hope your employers aren't paying you too much for your "research"...

Re: want to hear about any reptile/ snake nuisance issues you've been through
This is an old thread...old news....this person is no longer around here to even read your replies. There's no point in leaving it open to provoke useless drama.
