Dwarf burmese/ super dwarf retic

How much can I expect to pay for one of these, and who's a good breeder/site to look to to get it?And I promise I used the search feature before posting this. :gj:

Dwarf burms are hard to find and I hear a lot of fakes are being passed off. I also hear they are mean as heck and never calm down. Last year, the few I saw for sale were thousands of dollars..

True super dwarf retics however, are much better to have, only cost about $200 or so depending on breeder, and have great temperaments.

There are only a few people actually breeding the true SD's so they are not available very often. Many people are just using them to breed down the size of mainlands and get smaller color morphs but then they are not true SD and will get about as big as a dwarf and not an SD.

Check kingsnake.com I've seen some there recently.

Foschi hit it on the head! I got my 1.1 from Evan Stahl and he sent two happy healthy hatchlings which I've had no trouble with. Price each is about what Foschi said as well.

Whats a good size enclosure to start a baby off in? 10 or 20 gallon?

You don't want to use tanks. They require more humidity than a ball python. I keep mine in 15qt tubs right off the bat with the water bowl right on top of the heat tape. They spend time in the water bowls. I also mist daily. This keeps humidity high and gives them some room.

Yeah mine are in Boaphile cages and I use plastic dog bowls for water with the wide base because they do make a huge mess with the water otherwise. For ease of handling I would definitely go with tubs until it gets big enough for a snake cage. My adult male still fits in a 41 qt tub but they both have 4ft enclosures.

I have a 16 quart laying around, appears to be 13 x 9 x 7. I guess that will work?

Should be fine. I have about 7 holes on each end and keep 60+% humidity.
