Not coming out the cool side
Ok my python has not come out the cool side, for a wile I fed her today and she didn't eaves go straight to the warm side is that ok? My hot side it's sitting at 90 to 91 I don't know what's wrong

She will move when she is ready to digest.
What is the cool side at? is the temp in the room around normal? (72 ish)
I wouldnt worry about it really. Just double check the ambient and cool side temps and when shes ready to digest then she will move.

The cool side it's at 82 now and the ambient is 79 to 80

thats why, the cool side should be around 72 normally. The hot side is just not needed for the snake at this time.
I would try and get the temps down a little on that cool side, maybe move her in a basement or somewhere cooler. They need to be able to regulate their body temps with the temps in the tank so having a healthy 92 hot 80ish ambient and 72is cool side is ideal. But since she just ate I would wait to do all this for a few days.
If you cant move her i try to get the room a little cooler, it would be best for her if the cool side can be a little lower. Just my opinion though.

Do u have a hide on each end?...if so are both hides the same?...if not them that might be y...sometimes they prefer security and comfort over warmth...either get identical hides of they are not already identical or try to take the one from the cold end and put it at the warm end...but ahould def have identical hides...this isn't true with all bps but some are just that way.

Well ok I just turned the red bulb off so we will see i can drop the temp down, I moved the dimmer I had on the balls for my corn, I have to buy anotherone

are you only using a bulb for heat on the BP?

No I have a uth as well

ok, If the UTH is regulated by a thermostat and the probe reads a good 92 at the hot spot then I would not see a need for the bulb at all. How large is the tank?
Try removing the bulb and just having the UTH on and then read some temps and see what has changed.

    It's a 20 gallon long,

ok, like i said give it a try with using only the UTH.
Do you have it on a thermostat?
Try re temping it in about an hour and see what the cool side reads. If anything even moving the bulb up higher from the tank would help if the temps are too low on the cool side.

There is a chance that you're doing everything right, but snake is just comfortable there. My temps, humidity, etc are all spot on, but my guy can be found on the cool side more often than not. He's growing and eating incredibly well. All snakes can differ in that regard.

The cool side should NOT be 72ºF! that is far to LOW for a Royal! 78 at the lowest and 80 is the norm 79-84 ambient and 89-94 hot. Where you all got 72 I'll never know that is cooler than any I have seen.

Drop you cool side temps to 80. Check your hot side again, it might be a touvh high especially for a small snake little ones I use 89º hot spot.

72 for cool side?! Did I miss something here?

Where did you get that? That could make a BP sick. 75 is the lowest I've heard of even in breeding season. And some people consider that to be extreme.

My cool side is from 80 to 83. Ambient from 78 to 80 and hot from 90 to 91.8

you guys are right 75 is more acceptable.
i should have double checked my resources.
either way, the snake knows more than we do. If he doesnt need the hot spot then he wont use it. obviously your cool side being at 80 is working just fine for the snake for the time being. If he never uses the hot side at all then maybe it would be time for a change in temps.
Either way i dont think you need an UTH and a bulb but thats just me. As long as everything is regulated by a thermostat you should be just fine.

Francesco that is fine temps for you set up. I might try to drop the cool end temps so your range was closer to 79-81 and you might drop the warm/hot end one degree in the range as well. But that is nit picking a bit.

My cool side usually is around the 78 area (I can't get it stable when it gets above 80, so there it sits!), and both my BPs are almost always on the cold side. No need to worry. :)

    Well which is it???

The care sheet says 80 for the "cool" side and 90 for the "warm" side!

There is so much CONFLICTING advice on different issues between members with thousands of posts it's unreal!

I just want the best for my snake!

    It's most definitely 80.f.

Wow, didn't see the 72 recommendation before I posted. Of different snakes prefer different temps, but that is way too low! Much lower than any of the varying advice I've found online.

There isn't that much conflict on this one. The lowest I have ever seen is 78 or 79 and the highest is 82 or 83. Typically you will see 80 as the best set point. 83 is high but is not likely to bother much. 78 is quite cool but if the ambient temps are in the 80s I am sure it would be ok. 80 is by far the most common. Personally I 'tune' each enclosure for the individual snake so I see thermal regulation fairly often and the coolest I have is 79, and that is for a young small snake. Young ones don't need as much heat as the older ones.

You will always see 80/90 and ambient of 80-82 (if ambient temps are even mentioned.) I think most will agree that these temps are perfectly acceptable, some set higher or lower but these are accepted as norms.

Each end of the tank should have a hide. Check out the care sheet and if you have other questions start a thread and you'll get much quicker responses regarding any issues you may be having.
