    spider personality..?
Maybe its just me, but I feel like i frequently see people talking about how their spiders are either really nippy and/or voracious eaters. I know mine definitely falls under that category.

Is there some quirk in the genes that causes this or is it just a coincidence? I'm happy that my girl eats well, but I'm getting kinda tired of being struck at every time I open her box. I don't mind leaving her alone if I have to, but what fun is that?

can any spider owners chime in?

I think every snake is different. My spider has never struck at me but will eat every time you offer him food. He also didn't mind when I switched him from mice to rats. He's one of my sweetest snakes and certainly one of my favorites. ^__^

Mine is very nice and eats like a champ. She tagged my husband for the first time the other night. I think he startled her when he lifted her hide. I love her.

My spider is puppy tame but eats like a champ, so she falls under one of the criteria lol.

My spider eats like a champ and she is a sweet thing. Never tagged me while feeding. she knows what her food is. heck, she has never tagged me at all. She does not even freak out when i tap her head to try and get a good photo >.< she is a brat!

Haha, my spider is like that too. He used to be head shy but I think I broke him because he doesn't care any more. :P

I have never had a spider that didn't have an amazing personality. The one I have now is the most laid back snake I have ever seen. That is saying a lot for a ball python. If yours is a hatchling it will more than likely calm down with age, ride the wave.

I'll admit, it took me a while to get over thier "wobble". It creeped me out for the longest time. I always felt like I had a sick snake. Now that I've accepted that the wobble is normal, I love our spiders.

We have a couple spiders now and none show any aggression at all. Our bigger male let out a small hiss once while in shed, but that was the end of it.

Every spider we have had (besides one that was sick when we got it) have all been bottomless pits. They will eat anything and everything. They seem to be the least picky out of all of our balls.

My spider male was a bit tetchy when he was young, but he ate very well. He is now super mellow and it seems his daughter has picked up the bitey bitey vibe...

give it time and they mellow out nicely....:gj:

My Spider is very laid back. I can't remember her being testy, even when she was a hatchling.
She is a picky eater though, and will only eat live mice.:snake:

My spider boy is the one I let first timers hold. He is a real out going snake and doesnt stay balled up like my normal female. He is ready to GO! and climb all over you.

    I adore him <3

No way, mine is the sweetest thing I've ever seen. And up until recently was a very picky eater.

My spider male is really laid back. He eats well, breeds really well (he'd lock with a stick if I let him), and has never hissed or struck at anyone. My friend's spider is the same way. She eats well, breeds really really well, and is puppy dog "tame".

Mine eats well and has never struck at a single person. She hissed at me when I was cleaning her home during her shed but still didn't strike.
