    Everybody Meet "Marduk"
So... i just came back from White Plains Show... Surprisingly there wan not that much ppl as i suspected but was busy enought...

First surprise i got on BHB table... Guess who was visiting a show ?!

EVIL MORPH GOD Kevin McCurley HIMSELF !!!!!

I have honor to shake a hand of god and have nice few minutes conversation :D

was soo shocked that forget him to ask if I can take picture of him and me together :rage::(:rage:...

Invaded Reptile Basic table... grab bunch of supplies... and start randomly cruising between tables...

Looking Around i meet Raphael Martinez from MAballsdotnet

On Outback reptiles table they have few last examples of different species of African House Snakes.

I dont even think about buying a snake... but prices was a lover that they kingsnake add so i start thinking... I want a pair but Josh already informed me that as of now they have only males...

One of Striped House Snakes was smaller that rest but as WC animal i liked that he dont have any scaring and was actually really friendly so I asked if they lover a price a little bit because of size...

After they told me a new price my hand automatically reach a wallet and here it is.

Boaedon lineatus "Marduk" Stripe House Snake

    Weight : Hefty 58g

    Enjoy:

Those are cool little snakes. I've wanted one for a long time, but because I've got very limited room to keep snakes, I'm sticking to one species for now.

Nice looking little guy! IIRC, those are ridiculously easy to breed. If you get a female you could end up with dozens.

Congrats on the new addition! African house snakes are soooo cute :D It's like they took a colubrid and tried to give it a ball python face lol, At least that's how it looks to me :P

P.S. I love all your name choices! I'm using the ancient God theme for my T's: I've got Thor, Freya, Hel and I've got one coming in a couple weeks who's going to be named Skadi :D

This is exactly how the look :D take slender colubrid put on front small python head with viper like eyes :gj::gj::gj:

And from i heard and seen on pictures when they eat they behave exactly like small pythons :D

Will attempt feeding today maybe will shoot some video but for now some better photos..

He have some little scaring and a bit of stuck shed.. but mind that is a WC animal.. hopefully with couple more shed he will looks even better

    ENJOY:

Size comparison is illusive.. this is small RBI hide and he looks so tiny but he IS LONGER than he looks

So are these guys colubrids or pythons? It is hard to tell but it looks like he has heat sensory pits in these pictures, is that the case?

Actually never took that good look on front of the face.. will check it today :O

They are colubrids... but they are very interesting snakes to keep... They behave a little like pythons when they eat (they constrict by full coiling) and they are easy to keep and breed.

There are few species in pet trade in US

Most popular are Brown House Snake, Spotted House Snake, Striped House Snake and Cape House Snake.

Cape House snake is very interesting because that specie have biggest choice of morphs.
Besides regular wild form you have patternless, striped , albino, amelanistic , hypo piebald and pastel.

I believe that pair of cape house snakes het for albino or het for amel will be my next choice :D

I've started worried because in all this publications i read House snakes are such a good eaters ... and mine was refusing F/T peach fuzzy from beginning ...
He was flickering his tongue act interested only to act scared of food after few sec...
Today was 4th attempt (last fuzzy in bag) and of course same story... He coiled himself in nice pretzel and dont wanna have nothing to do with frozen rodent...
I very delicate dead fuzzy in his coils and leave him be... go back to playing video game with thought that I'll remove it like before after 30-45 min or so...
I believe almost hour past i get my but from bed look inside tub :O There is no mouse !!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Instead that....nice bulge in second third of his body...

    I'm so relieved...

But now Question Should I continue attempts with F/T, or just try find store with live feeders??? (what is almost impossible in NYC if we talking about pinky and fuzzy size live rodents)

    :banana::banana::banana:Small Update:banana::banana::banana:

I believe he is fully adapted to his new enclosure... today he launch on "zombie fuzzie" after 2 second dance...
He missed first time but I have occasion to see how powerful and fast his strike is... that was turbo spring launching itself for like 2/3 of his body :rofl::rofl:
He hit a target on second attempt... And believe me this small worm is strong when he wants his food...
Hopefully he father a lot of nice clutches of eggs in the future:gj::gj::gj:
