Normal or Spider?
Is this a spider or a normal ball python? Can you tell in the picture? The guy said it was a cinnamon spider?

IMO that's a nice reduced pattern normal, nothing more. It doesn't have the right head pattern to be a spider.
-
+1 definitely not a spider. They have unique head patterns.

I suggest buying from a reputable breeder who lives for this hobby....

Nice looking snake nonethless.

Re: Normal or Spider?
I am going with a really really very cool.... Normal Not seeing spider or cinny there.
-
You know, even if that's not a cinnamon spider, if it is a girl and he doesn't want an arm and a leg, I'd be all over it.
That snake has a very unique pattern, and if you ever get into breeding she could produce some outstanding babies.

Looks like a skinny dinker normal - If it is healthy other than being skinny and it's a female I'd say it would be worth dinking around with but the person sounds fishy or at the least uninformed :(

Re: Normal or Spider?
Do you know the parentage at all ? Its either a very beautiful normal with reduced pattern but it could be a spider. Its a tough call but I'm going to call this one a spider.

Percentage? of what? Spiders are either spiders or not. There is no percentage. And the same goes for a normal, its either normal or not. This snake is very normal. Yes it does have a unique pattern and that might be worth dinking with, but it is NOT a spider. Not even close.

I think what SnakeLove41 was seeing and talking about was the pic Leah (LGray) shared in post #3 of a baby spider, am I right?
-
Def a nice normal. If it's healthy I would pick it up for some nice dinker projects. Put a nice pastel with that girls and those babies would blush out for sure!

No, I think SnakeLove41 was referring to the OP's snake and was wondering what the PARENTS (parentage not percentage) were.
Either way, that snake is not a spider, and definitely not a cinnamon either. The snake is still beautiful though and would make some pretty babies. If it is a female, I'd keep it and put some weight on her to breed. Put her to a spider and make some awesome reduced pattern spiders! :D

Re: Normal or Spider?
Its a normal all the way.So please inform the person to please come here to our forum and learn a few things.

Those are terrible pictures. A full body shot, taken with an actual camera (not a cell phone) from above, either outside in the noon sun or under bright daylight bulbs.
What I'm wondering is what influence does cinnamon have on the spider pattern when crossed since cinnamon is both a color and pattern mutation, as is spider.

Before you all judge.. Do a bit of homework. It might be what the seller is claiming. Here is a cinnabee.. No way to prove it if the seller has no reputation but it is possible..

Re: Normal or Spider?
I was just about to say, cinnamon does take the head pattern out of the spider morph. That doesn't mean for sure that its a cinn/spider... but its still on the table.
-
Exactly. I read all the replies and just knew I'd seen the cinnabee before and wondered about that pattern. You guys get all huffy right away sometimes lol.
-
If it is a cinnabee the belly should be clean and white with no markings also. Try to get better photos. Full body, close up of head, eye color, and full belly.

Re: Normal or Spider?
Honestly? It looks a lot like this girl (who happens to be a het, but definitely not a spider/cinnamon).
I don't see any spider influence even in the side patterns on the picture that the OP posted. If I were trading a combo morph, I'd sure be taking better pictures than what has been offered to the OP, especially with one that's so questionable.

It's actually the side pattern of the snake in question that throw me off. From above it looks like it could be what they claim it is but then I see the sides and think no.
Actually, just now an add for a spider cinny was posted on fauna and it's one of the better ones I've seen. It made me realize why the side pattern didn't look quite right on the one in this thread. It has a lot of white outlining but not the high white sides you would expect from the spider influence. Since the pattern on those seems to vary greatly, I think it's those sides that would be the deciding factor for me. And the belly.

LMFAO did you buy it? thats no cinnamon spider. its just a normal
