    Boaphile plastics?
Wanted to know if anyone had bought from this website before, as I am looking to get a new enclosure for my BP. She is currently in a crappy glass 29 gallon and she is a little over 3 feet.

http://www.boaphileplastics.com/322d.html, This is the one I was thinking of ordering, thoughts?

Anything boaphile will be nice. They are a good company and I see their cages everywhere.

I've only heard good things about them and I'll be ordering one very soon. Driving myself crazy with all the heat/light/size combinations. I'm probably going with the larger 421 though.

I have never ordered a cage from them, but I do have 15 racks from them and I love them. Jeff did what he said he was going to do and they all arrived working and in the timeline he told me.

Boaphile is a great company with great customer service. Though I've only ordered heating supplies from them, I have heard excellent things about their cages.

Make sure to get the black hinges, radiant heat panel, and the Ranco thermostat - you will really like it. It's light, sturdy, attractive, stackable, reasonably priced, and holds temps/humidity rock steady. If you want to spoil a pet snake, this is the way to do it.

The only (minor) downside: I got the flourescent light installed, and it burnt out within a couple weeks. If Jeff would toss in a low-heat LED light the cages would be completely perfect.

just keep in mind your going to probably have to wait 6 weeks for the cage. i have a rack from them. i find rbi to be much better in quality and i didn't have to wait more then a week to get it....they don't sell cages anymore:( but if your looking for a rack to get imo rbi is better then boaphile....i have also seen a lot of nice quality stuff from animal plastics as well, you might want to look into them too

To be fair, with the exception of RBI and Barrs, most manufacturers have long lead times.

However all things being equal, the customer service from Boaphile is hit or miss. At one point I had 8 or 9 boaphile cages and four of their racks. Getting a return call from them when an issue arises can be extremely frustrating. With so many other options out there, I've pretty much figured there's no need to put up with the headaches when I can get better service elsewhere.

See, many of the other manufacturers offer excellent customer service. RBI and Barrs all bend over backwards to please the customer and as far as racks go, Freedom Breeder and ARS modular units are built like brick sh**houses and their customer service is excellent.

I have also bought from Repti-Racks and while the lead times were longish, problems were dealt with immediately and calls were returned promptly.

Doug Barrs sells a 3x2x1 cage for $150. The cages are light, he ships fast and his customer service is second to none. Plus I think it's a nice touch that he gives you a handwritten thank you card with each purchase.

I agree. I love my Boaphile stack and my wait period wasn't as long as some. I sometimes wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that I met Jeff at NARBC and BS'd with him awhile before I actually ordered my cages. Who knows but I'm very happy with mine.

I have a boaphile rack (but no cages) and love it.

Customer service via telephone the two times I called was perfect.

Lead time was estimated @ 4-5 weeks. It arrived 4 1/2 weeks after I placed my order. I don't consider 4-5 weeks long at all as I avoid impulse purchases, but every herpetoculturist I deal with has been more than willing to hold on to an animal for a little while (once they have cash in hand) so I can get housing in order.

I'm planning on purchasing two stacks of cages from them once I have the funds for it.

How does the RHP work? I'm still in the research phase, and my original plan was to go with a tank and two UTHs and T-stats to totally regulate both warm and cool sides accurately. I assume only one RHP is used, so how do you regulate both sides of these cages?

I do like the look of these cages, and tanks, while relatively inexpensive, aren't necessarily so nice looking once modified to control humidity.

The radiant heat panel is fantastic - you just plug it into your thermostat the same as a UTH. Jeff hangs them on the roof of the cage with a very slick attachment mechanism so there are no cords or holes inside the cage. It feels like warm pavement in the summertime when you touch it.

Unless your room is in the 60-70 degree range, that should be the only heater you need to heat the whole cage. If you are in a super cold environment, you can also get a UTH from Jeff to boost ambient temps.

I got the 4x2 cages with the under tank heat he offers in the double size. It covers half the bottom and keeps the hot side perfect while keeping the ambient temp at 80. Controlled by a Ranco therm.

i want t o get a 36 X 24 X 11.5 and im debating over the RHE or a UTH from boaphile has anyone tried both and has a oppion oon it, right now im leaning toward the UTH because thats what i use in my tank now and setting up the probe and everything will be a piece of cake, but im worried it wont be enough for ambient temps

That is the 4x2 I'm talking about. 4ft by 2ft. I have the 2x UTH that Jeff offers. Which simply means the flex watt almost takes up half of one side of the enclosure. It is more than enough.

He offer three sizes of UTH for those cages..

My stack is in my front room which is very open. Even if it gets down to 68/70 degrees in there, the ambient temp in my boaphiles is 79 bottom cage and 81 top cage while my hot belly temp side stays right around 90.

yeah, so is there any advantage of getting a RHE?
