First Clutch!
Finally she layed! my female normal and male pastel made me some eggies! she had good timing too cuz we just moved into the house and she layed the next day. i plugged the incubator in that morning and when i was moving the hatchling rack into the room i saw an egg. i freaked, i now have an idea somewhat of new fathers rushing to get to the hospital. she gave me four healthy eggs and three boobs so i hope i get four healthy babies. camera is still packed so sorry, no pics yet.

Congrats!!! I wanna see some photos!!
Sorry.. we all love pics so much it is scary..;-)

the last pic got messed up somehow so ill post a better one tomorrow. it looks fine on my computer. in the last pic the egg in the top left has some fluid coming out. i checked on them after work and it was dripping fluid that came from the inside. they all candled nicely and i see some movement but they are still pretty firm.

eggs still look the same as in the pics so hopefully they will start deflating soon. the wait so far has been OK but now its killing me to just wait another 7 days.
-
Hang in there, we're here waiting with you ;) keep us posted!

Should I leave the plastic wrap on the tub to keep the seal or should I remove it to help air flow?
-
Re: First Clutch!
Have you cut these or have they hatched yet!
-
I haven't cut yet and they haven't pipped

I would remove it, let them breath a bit.
Stay relaxed and enjoy the show because it'll soon be but a memory.
Go eggies go :)
-
I'm gonna take it off then. I just checked them and they are inside the eggs moving a lil bit, veins r good, and the temp and humidity is changed a bit. Also they are starting to deflate more so I'm super pumped. Thanks!
-
Congrats but I do have one question. Why didn't you incubate the boob eggs too?
-
Yay Eggs! Can't wait to see more pictures!

I haven't posted newer pics yet cuz they still look the same as the last pic on page one

I caved and decided to cut them and see whats going on in there. they are all alive but they look a lil under-developed but maybe its just me, prolly just me.

This lil one worries me, you can see all the Blood Vessels still attached.

im gonna leave them completely alone for the next week and just pray everything goes good for them. and yes, i did something im not proud of. i poked them gently to see if they were a live and they all twitched and got pissed off just like their daddy. like i said, im not happy i poked them, but now i know they are alive.
-
Oh ya, I'm pretty sure I have 3 pastels and 1 normal so let's hope there are some baby girls in there.
-

Re: First Clutch!
Are they still chilling in there eggs
-
Ya they are still in there chillin. They look much more developed but I think its going to be a few more days. I don't get it cuz know the incubator stayed at 89-90 the entire time but they still look like they won't be ready for a while.
Day 60
-
As someone who has yet to even get eggs, I can only imagine how the wait feels.. I hope it all goes well!!
-
-
Aahhh them lil worms need to come out now!
-
-
By my calculations, you cut in day 53, and today is day 60.

that is possible, I've been working all types different hours and overtime so I've been a lil off lately. I'll have to check my calendar. They were laid on July 2
-
Then you are at day 61 now, i thought they were layed on the 3rd, they look good, just clean off any slime that developes, and add saline to prevent any drying out as needed
-
I just checked the eggs and they are all inside still and alive. But I'm kinda worried cuz the fluid seems a bit thicker and there is a white film on top of the fluid. Is this normal or should I take some sort of immediate action?
-
I'm gonna get some saline later and flush them out and try to make them nice again. I guess leaving them alone did more bad than good. I hope they come out ok
-
I've got a lil pastel worm nose poking out. I took some pics so ill post em up in a second
-
Here is the lil pastel poking out.
http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/IMG_2012.jpg
Just worried about the two on the right side because of that white film. i put a bunch of saline in them and its not like that anymore so they should be good. thanks everyone.
-
I've got three lil worm faces poking out! The fourth is thinking about it but I think they like their egg too much. More pics soon, thanks everyone
-
Ok so one normal is completely out but her stomach is still open and she's still attached to the egg. Is this normal or should I do something? I'll get some pics up soon. Gotta go take them first
-
here is a new pic of them all. the one im concerned about is the bottom right.
http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/IMG_2015.jpg
here is a close up of the situation.
http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/IMG_2019.jpg
i thought they would detach from everything before they climbed out but i was wrong. is this normal??
-
-
That baby isn't ready ! You need to get a small Tupperware that it will fit in, put a wet papertowel in it and back in the incubator!!
-
That is what happens sometimes when the egg in cut to early.
