Google+

Anyone get an invite to Google+ yet? I can't wait to try out it but have no invite yet :(
I'm getting tired of Facebook, never really liked it that much, and Google+ looks pretty promising. I like that you can create 'circles' to separate your friends, therefore, your posts. Looks pretty cool, really want to give it a go!

I'm right there with you guys. Waiting for invite. I like the Circles idea and Android devices will work great with it.

It looks like it could be cool. Voice/video chat is awesome.

Hey guys, I have invites, PM me you emails and I'll send them out. It would be really cool to make BP circle where we could upload photos and just chat when we all have free time.

Give it time, If it becomes a new popular project, Facebook will add this is a new update.

so far google + seems promising.. I have not used the video chat rooms yet, but my hubby did.. and it seemed to work quite well.. :D

I must add that you need a gmail email address to join. The background is different because this is a different forum...it's Walt's forum and he apparently likes black and blue :D

I was checking out the new Google+, and to me it just looks a lot like Facebook. I honestly doubt it will replace Facebook. But that's just me.

No, it won't replace FB entirely. I've been using for a while now and really like it much better but know I won't be able to convert all of my peeps. So, I will have to use both.
What I do LOVE is the ability to view just 1 circle if I want, or to post to just certain circles. Cuts down on all the 'clutter'. That's what I dislike about FB so much, games/likes/general clutter that you can't avoid. G+ makes it so easy to filter who you are posting to, or what group you want to read.

Actually, you can avoid the clutter. You can go in and choose to block anything that will pop up on your news feed from certain people, applications/games or anything else. That is how I avoid the dreaded "clutter".

Yup, until someone starts another game or enables another app.
I have young nieces and nephews on FB, I like to see what they are up to but really don't care what links they 'like' and what stupid apps/games they use. With + I can make a circle just for them so when I want to wade through all that garbage I can, and when I don't I don't have to look at it. Conversely, if they were on + they could just post that stuff to their friends, not the whole world. If I just want to see what my "phone nerds" circle is up to I can select to view only that, or "reptile folk" or "family"...I don't have to sift through pages of crap to get to what I want to look at.
+ is just nicer for filtering.

Uhh how You add ppl using they gmail ?? ... I know how to add using they names.. but when i try find ppl with mail there is nothing showing up :-/

I got Ed invited without a gmail address - he's joined - but I don't know that he uses it that much.

Well, I am not sure searching works all that well anyway! You seem to need the real Google account name or email...but email doesn't even seem to work 100% of the time. They have some refining to do still it seems.
