They are carpet/green tree python hybrids, and some people happen to have a moral opposition to hybridization of species. I don't, however :D
Those guys look fantastic! Can't wait till they grow up, 75%er carpondros are ridiculously beautiful.

Thank you and correct! These are IJ X HighlandXBiak. I have some things in the works for future Carpondro projects that I can't wait to get started on.

Edit:... Do they have the attitude of GTP's or are they more laid back like the carpets?
Thank you! In my experience Chondros are much more laid back than Carpets....the main reason I sold my carpets 12 years ago. These seem to have characteristics of both and 5 of 7 perch like chondros. Since carpets are easier to get started I'm hoping they keep on that track. Baby chondros are a pain in the rear to get feeding....mostly because they just do not want to strike at anything. So far, all but 2 have taken several meals and have had their second sheds. Those that are feeding well are already double the size of the stubborn kids.
I set out to produce these with my lone IJ female and she was a great mom. I plan to test a theory on egg size determination either this season or next. I'm not aware of any carpondros produced from breeding a male carpet to a female chondro. Most of this is due to the belief the eggs are going to be larger because of the carpet gene, and the female chondros could become eggbound. I'm not so sure I buy into this. These eggs were pretty standard for carpet eggs, as were the babies when they hatched. I'm pretty sure it will work the same if a female chondro were used....I think the female determines the egg development and size.
I'm glad I didn't ruffle any feathers yet. These guys are even more amazing in person and probably the best looking carpondros I've seen yet. Hope everyone is having a great season.
Thanks again
Brandon

In my experience gtp are much more calm and easy to deal with than carpets. I only speak for myself when I day that. I sold my carpet collection in 1999 to acquire more gtp.
With that said, it's almost too early to tell. If I had to say, they take after carpets. They are somewhat snappy/jumpy, which baby chondros are not. It nearly takes an army to get a baby chondro to strike.
