Something you'd like to learn.
What's something you want to learn to do and why?
I've got two things: 1) I want to learn to do that fire breathing thing, it just seems so awesome!
2) This is going to sound ridiculously nerdy, but I always wanted to learn to speak Elvish, like from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings :P

I want to learn falconry. I love birds of prey! It would be amazing to work with a falcon/hawk/eagle. It amazes me what they can do, I've seen a falconry video where two large eagles took down a deer.
As for normal things I want to learn, it would be great to brush up on my Spanish and be able to say more than "I don't speak Spanish." and "Where is the bathroom?". I took 4 years of it in high school and I didn't learn much because at the time I didn't want to be in the class. :(

Oh, falconry is amazing!! I love birds of prey too, if I ever move to the country I'm going to try and set up a raptor sanctuary with my father! Falconry would be something awesome to learn. Spanish is a great language, I wish I knew more of it too...

As much as I rag on it because I'm forced to learn it in my province, I love the French language (French from France, not Quebec French).
MMA is awesome too, I had a friend who was super into it. I've thought about trying some fighting stuff but I'm really a terrible fighter, I have no upper body strength :P

Re: Something you'd like to learn.
I really want to learn archery and drawing with pastels. I can draw and sketch but I have never learned to do pastel drawings.
-
Couple things...
1.) I want to get better at drawing/sketching. I used to sketch quite a bit and my friends would like what I drew, but in my eyes I was never very good. I bought some sketch pads and pencils a few months ago to try to get back into it, but haven't had much time...
2.) Play bass guitar. I took guitar lessons for two summers when I was 9 and 10. I never got very good, but learned some basic chords and stuff. The problem for me playing a 6-string is that my fingers are too big. I can't hit a single string without dampening at least one next to it. I figured I might pick up a bass and try to learn since there aren't as many strings and they're spread farther apart, but I just haven't...

It's not really something a lot of people outside of QC know about, but French from France is a lot more formalized and the way it's pronounced is a lot nicer, whereas Quebec French is a lot more slang-like, and just doesn't sound as nice spoken. It's hard to describe lol. Picture like a well-off, rich family going to visit their relatives that live in a wooden shack in the middle of a bog lol, if you get what I mean?

Archery is really cool! And I wish I could draw. All my friends are good artists and they all make fun of me because I can't draw/paint/anything to save my life :P

Bass is awesome (but I'm biased lol, bass is my instrument). Its different from playing guitar though, it's like a whole different animal. It's like each instrument is a part of anatomy of music. Drums are the backbone that give it a structure, guitar is like the muscles that make it move a certain way, but bass is the spinal cord that is vital to coordinating everything. Sorry lol, music philosophy got me carried away :P

Hehe, I think most Canadians are aware of this, to be honest with you! I can't stand Quebec pronunciations. One of my best friend's mother is from Paris, and her French is just beautiful. I would like to become fluent in French, but being from Canada, it would be Quebec French *sigh*.
It's quite similar to comparing some German from Germany, and some dialects from Austria. Austria's German is much more smooth, and flowing, as opposed to German German, which is more harsh and hardcore sounding!
Anyways, I'd like to learn how to bake fancy-schmansy pastries! Sometimes I wonder if I'm going to school for the wrong thing. Something inside me always tells me that I want to drop out of my program, and start all over to become a pastry chef!
Have my own little cute shop in downtown Toronto, selling cute little pastries to everyone! :D
/dream.

No, that's awesome... I think I was always more cut out for bass anyway. I used to sit in my bedroom trying to teach myself how to play some stuff, but I was always plucking one string at a time, focusing on the rhythm.
As I got older I had several friends who played in bands and I would say 90% of them were bassists... Wish I would have picked it up as a teen when I actually had free time...
