Yellow Belly ?????
-
Looks like one too me, nice one too! ~Caylan.s.~

Head point... Nice flames that markers of YB... checkered sides of belly are not too obvious in this case but I will say that is Yellow Belly. Nice snake :gj::gj::gj:

Yup that's a yellow belly. It's got the head marker, and the wonky colours and pattern. The belly doesn't show the trademark granite side speckling as well as others, but it's certainly a yellow belly! Congrats! :D

Re: Yellow Belly ?????
it doesnt look like a yb too me
no flames and no checkers

It's a yellowbelly, it has flames between almost every alien, clear belly with checking and the typical head spot.
Not the best example maybe but looks lik a yb to me.
-
Belly reminds me of a yb het pied I saw not too long ago.
-
I can't say for sure 100% but it does look similiar to a Yellow Belly! Need some shots with brighter lighting!
-
Not a yellowbelly. The checkering along the sides of the ventral scales isn't uniform and there is too much white where the pattern meets the ventral scales.
You want to look for speckling/checkering through the dark and light markings where they meet the ventral scales all the way down the body.

There's no flames in the first pic.
I still say it's normal.

I'm really no expert by any means, so this is just my personal opinion from what I have seen.. I would not think this is a Yellow Belly from the pictures alone. It's very difficult to determine by these pictures. It could just be a nice Normal with many flames and a clear belly, or it could be a poor example of a Yellow Belly. Hopefully more experienced people can give their input here.
Were you sold this snake with the impression that it was a YB or did you buy it as a Normal??
-
I can see 7 flames at least in the first pic... and the second shot is what really shows this snake is a yellowbelly to me. Not all yellowbellies have that pixely side look, some have rather clear bellies. Breed it to another yellowbelly and make some ivories, easiest way to tell for sure lol. I'm still wagering yellowbelly, curious now as well if you did purchase it as a yellowbelly or not. I've been wrong before, but I like to think I like yellowbellies lol, and I would say thats a nice one too haha! ~Caylan.s.~

Re: Yellow Belly ?????
Got the snake as a trade . It was traded to me as a normal .but the guy bred YB 's .

I see this too, no doubt in my mind it's a yellowbelly :)
-
Not all yellowbellies have good flames or head spots but the PIXELATED belly is a MUST. If everyone went around selling nice flamed normals with head spots as yellowbellies there would be a lot of fraud going on.
Sorry but I still say its a really nice normal. It almost looks granitey.
-
Re: Yellow Belly ?????
Definitely a very nice normal sorry.
-
With those flames, it could be a yellowbelly, but the belly is not quite right to me. Not all yellowbellies display all the characteristics in a classic way, but there needs to be a hint of them.
Here is a proven ivory producing CH yellowbelly male I used to have that does not have a textbook belly. Yet, you can see a suggestion of the pixelation trying to come out.

There were those way back then that doubted that mine was a yellowbelly until he produced an ivory for me, so, if you think you see it, breed him and see what happens.
-
You can see this snake trying in the same way, especially in the first picture. Yellowbelly, first and final answer. Breed it make sure, but thats my thoughts. Great pics MakiMaki! ~Caylan.S.~

Re: Yellow Belly ?????
i just picked up a proven breeder male YB,so next year will tell all.
thanks for all of the opinions. :snake:
-
now lets see how good ya'll are. these are, in my opinion are one the hardest one to judge
next one was sold as a female spider pos. YB.
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...raphone002.jpg
she wouldn't let me get a belly shot so i had to put her in a container

her color is way brighter than my male.

Just a spider...Spiderbelly's have flames, at least all of the ones I've seen including the one we have.
You are correct in it being subtle though.
This is our spider yellowbelly female...

Re: Yellow Belly ?????
SWEET SPIDER!!!. Thanks for the info.
-
Both those spiders look great! Love how gold the first one is, and the flames on the second one are really unique looking! Thanks for sharing, I before did not know how to tell yellowbelly spiders so this is really cool! ~Caylan.S.~

Yellowbelly enhances almost every morph it combines with, even the spider gene is flamed up soome :)
I can't wait to see what the yb gene does with the clown gene :D

This snake has great flames! The checkering is a little weak, but I will say it's a Yellowbelly!
Nice snake!

Re: Yellow Belly ?????
My husband and I just started collecting Ball pythons. I love them and am fascinated by all the beautiful morphs but still after reading piles of threads find the YB to be outright confusing.
I read on nerd the belly must be clear white with speckling on the sides of the belly but the guide on next world exotics shows in its first example shot a snake with speckling all over the belly.
The flames seem fairly straight forward. The spot on the head is less straight forward does it need to be a concentrated circle or just faded in general when compared to a normals color.
This was the first snake we bought she was purchased as a normal but after learning a bit I think she may be a YB. I bought her because I thought the orange on her sides was pretty so I wont be devastated if she is not a possible morph.
