    ball python size
ok i have had my ball python for about 2.5 years now. she is a little over 2 ft long and she isnt that big around either. she escaped from her cage a while ago for about a month, and that kept me from feeding her for a while. i have been looking at 2 yr old bp's and there way bigger than my bp.dont u think she should be a little bit bigger or something.i feed her once a week. what do you think???

Her meals are way too small for her age, probably why she's so skinny. She should easily be able to take weaned rats at her age. My 2010's all take weaned rats. I'd switch asap to rats....do you have any pictures of her?

I have a 2000 gram female yellowbelly that won't be 2 till August and a 950 gram female that will be two in August, size/weight is hugely variable.
The 950 gram girl had a 9 day adventure herself and went off feed several times which is why she's not nearly the size of my big girl.

Without pictures your question is pretty difficult to answer.

Some grow a little slow. I have an 08 that is a little over 900 gr ( she eats mice ) and an 08 that is around 3000 gr ( she eats rats ). Try feeding rats.
The month off food shouldn't be a big deal.

She doesn't look as skinny as I thought she would. Even still, I'd bump her meal sizes up.

A whole lot of things go into how big they get and how fast. Part of it is what you feed them. Part of it is how often you feed them. And a whole lot of it is if they will eat when you feed them.

This is a pic of a ball python born in Sept 2010. She's right around 700 gms. She eats a small rat every 4-5 days and does not seem to know that she can refuse a meal if she wants to.

I wish all of my snakes were that way. I've got a Mojave born just a couple of months later who is the pickiest eater I've ever seen. She's just around 250 gms.
