    New pastel female
I just adopted this girl yesterday, she has a really neat pattern and the yellow on her sides is super bright. I couldn't really capture how bright with the camera. She is quite brown on top though, and she does have some scars from a previous owner who left her in with a live ASF. She is apparently around two years old, so small for her age at 600-700 grams. I haven't weighed her myself yet though. I couldn't get her to unball, so I'll have to get some better pics later on after she has settled in.

    Anyhoo, here is Sunshine Mary.

Ah, so I was correct about the age. If you are able to get her eating regularly, she may fill out quite nicely. I have a normal with scars that I adopted out of pity. She never has caught up with the growth curve since her experience made her a nervous eater.

On the other hand, I bought a 950 gram female calico that had been purposely slow grown, put her on a 5 day feeding schedule, and she shot up to 1200 grams empty in a month. She was a long, slender, but not skinny snake. She is not fat at all now either, just put on nice weight when fed regularly.

Hopefully your girl will start feeding well and fill out for you. She looks like she could put some meat on along her spine. She is a pretty girl, I love her dorsal pattern. As I mentioned in your other thread, a hide can help the nervous eaters ambush thier prey without having them walk all over them. I don't use hides with most of my balls since they are in a rack, but i use one with the scarred girl and it helps.

Hi Jake, yes you were right about the age. I have her in a rack, with two box hides, one on either side. She was currently eating multiple live mice per feeding, but apparently is a very good eater, so that is encouraging. So I am actually going to try to switch her to f/t rats. If she's a good eater, hopefully the security of a rack and hides will help me switch her. I will try the blow dryer trick, it seems to work well.
Thanks for the advice! I really like her pattern too, it's really interesting.

Lol! The sleeve was just my sweatshirt that I was already wearing. I put the glove on because I was planning on trying to unroll her and give her a good once over, but I couldn't get her out of her knot anyway. I'm just a chicken lol! She is nice and tame anyway so it wasn't needed.:P
