Depends how much you feed your snakes and how big the litters are.

You'd be better to do a 1.3

1.1 won't be consistent enough, 1.3 would provide a better supply.

Always better to have more rats than not enough. I would run 1.3 at least. There is nothing like being able to have any size rodent available anytime you need it. The extras can always be sold as pets or food if you take the time to raise them. Food for thought.

Speaking from someone who owns a pet store.....
No.
I don't chance bringing in rodents from an unknown, outside source....
That's me, don't know about other pet stores..

In my experience the big box stores will not take in any animal to sell but they would take them for adoption. IOW, they'll take your rats if they're free. They don't pay for them.

My area has a wholesaler who travels around and picks up the "over-flow" and then resells them to pet stores in the area for pets and for food.
He has people breeding rats, mice, asf's, rabbits and guinea pigs etc. for him to flip to stores.
Maybe there is someone in your area that does the same?

I agree, they do it around here though, nobody has ever heard of quarantining rodents I guess
The pet store I sold to would bring in other rodents and get the whole lot sick and then blame me for giving them sick rats.
