What color are these baby rats?
Here are my 22 baby rats from my double rex sisters.
They are all the same color and I would guess agouti? But I am not sure. Either way the self ones are very cool looking.

I see Irish/English, Split Capped/Stripe, Badger (That appears to be banded), Bareback Hooded, Hooded, Variegated and Berkshire. All are Agouti (Wild Type) colored. Which are one of my favorite rats!

I don't see any self rats, but I might be missing them. Self rats should have one solid, uniform color with no white hairs (including on the feet).

I think Michelle went a little over board naming markings. lol.

There are poor hooded, and berkshire markings, as well as solid agouti it looks like.
    All are agouti coloured. :)

Since they're agouti, there are no selfs. Agouti is not a self colour. ;)

Awesome! thank you! thats what i would have guessed was agouti. They are SO cool, ive never had agouti, let alone the whole litter with two different females (sisters but still)

I love the solid ones! I think Ill be keeping one or two! :P

Ill just have to see if the high whites show any megacolon...this is from the same male that fathered a rat with megacolon in a recent post of mine. The females were already pregant and I didnt know the risks of the high white breeding until just recently. So some of those poor cute blazes might be in trouble. :(

They actually follow under "Other" because they are ticked, but imo, if they are still a uniform color with no white, they are usually called self. Although I do realize they are not considered "self" by the AFRMA, RMCA, etc. But, thanks for the correction. I was trying not to confuse things.

I named what I saw. Poor hooded (speckling on the side, head spot) is a Varigated. I don't really see many Berkshires. Most likely due to the small amount of white tipping on their tails, there are probably more Irish/English markings than Berks.

Not to mention, I don't see any selfs...I mean solids. They all have white feet. :)

You said I over did it and you listed ones you weren't sure about. Besides not being sure about which are Berks/Irish/English, all of the ones I listed are there. I love the fact that there are a couple of people on this forum that I can debate rats with though! :)

Anyway, to the OP, lovely babies! I wish I had that Agouti Badger. Badgers are my favorite marking and Agouti are my favorite colors. I hope this litter does well for you! :)
