    My first bps!
Hey guys I have decided to rescue a couple bps in my.area off Craigslist. I feel that I have the knowledge to take care of them...and if I have questions I have you guys! They will be in the cages they come with till this next wensday when I can get there tubs setup! The one is a 3ft normal...not sure on sex and the other is a possible pastel...or just a really bright normal 3ft also and unknown sex also. I am so excited. $160 for both BP and a 20l setup and 40 gallon setup. I will keep you all posted as to what's happening and get some pics up when I get them.

    This is the possible pastel.

Congrats, looks like a normal, the only way to tell for sure is belly and head/face shots. Green eyes are a dead giveaway for a pastel :) Good luck on getting your setup too! I posted in your other thread on it to help you out :)

I'm so excited I'm getting them Sunday. I will be ordering all I need for my tubs this next week...I'm so excited to the point of wanting to jump up and down. Haha. I seriously cannot wait...even though I have said that like five times. :p

how should I transport them with the least amount of stress to the snakes? Its a 2 hour ride.

Two of my three snakes were picked up two hours from my house. I simply turned on the heater in my car so they weren't too cold (I'm used to the heat so I didn't mind two hours of driving in a hot car), and transported them in pillow cases. You can also put them in pillow cases, then put the pillow cases into an insulated box if you wish. :)
My opinion and method, of course.

That's basically how breeders ship snakes. Except, what they use are called "snake bags", lol same basic thing. Pillow cases or breathable, dark, and keep the snake feeling more secure than a box or anything else.

    Good luck!

Thanks! How long should I wait before trying to feed them a week or two?

I believe most people wait a week before offering food. Some will eat sooner and some won't take it the first time. Sitting in your car should be less stressful than being shipped via FedEx or UPS so they will probably eat if you wait a week.

I agree.. a couple hours in a car shouldnt be too stressful if you put them in pillow cases. Im no expert by any means, but it seems best practice would be two separate pillow cases, and put in a place that they wont slide around.. you know (common sense stuff). I have no idea what your climate is.. but if you live anywhere similar to mine.. friggen 98+ degrees in my car during the day in the summer.. I doubt you will need to heat them.. I would avoid a booming stereo though, as the vibrations could possibly stress them further. Very cool looking snake! good luck, they are awesome
