So ridiculously excited ...

I know, it's kind of a noob-y post, but I don't care; I'm too darned psyched and I gotta share! :D :banana::banana::banana: (Crap ... I did NOT mean to rhyme like that. :rolleyes:)

The mama of this clutch is a mojave that I picked up as a "backup" mojo, hoping to up my odds of getting a blue-eyed lucy. That's all I wanted this season: a blue-eyed lucy. My other mojo female didn't even take, and the "backup" ended up giving me seven good eggs ... And the first one pipped Saturday:

I kind of love that little lesser, too, but unfortunately it looks to be a boy. :rolleyes: Oh well -- with the lucies, I'm not complaining!

Thanks everyone!! I absolutely cannot get enough of these guys ... Three are out now, and it's all I can do not to just hang out in my snake room and stare at them :P

The other thing I'm so excited about is how much more robust and active this whole clutch is compared to my first clutch of BP's ever last year. The babies from that clutch were ~30 grams each and kinda shy and sluggish. These guys are 55-70 grams each and want to explore the world!! :D

One still chillin' in the egg ... He poked his head out, but went back in when I removed the other three.

That is so exciting! Thanks for sharing. :) The blue eyed lucy is my big desire. Unfortunately my female mojave is SO picky. She is about 600 grams but so far has only ate one 1 mouse in a month. :mad: She won't touch the rats.

Thanks Kara!! ... And I remember just a few years back, looking at a little tiny BEL in the palm of your hand and thinking, "WOW! Maybe some day ..." (Matter of fact, I think that little BEL may have been the only ball python I'd ever seen you really geek out about! :P)

To top it all off, it looks like I got 1.3 leucistics -- the male I was hoping for, plus potentially three extra females that I very well may be keeping :O Clutch total was 1.3 BELs, 0.2 wild-types, 1.0 lesser.

Thank you all for indulging my inane level of excitement! Persistence is key -- I've been attempting to breed pythons on and off for quite a few years now, and this clutch just feels that much more awesome having been a few years' coming!
