15 egg clutch!

I thought I'd share my largest clutch of the season (and my largest clutch to date). This girl laid a nice 12 egg clutch last year for me:

Well this year she outdid herself again by dropping 15 eggs with 0 slugs. Her pre-lay weight was 3800 grams, with the eggs weighing 1700 grams. She was bred twice to a firefly male, and the killerbee male locked up with her 3 days prior to ovulation. I have heard that locks that late never take, but it will be interesting to see if any bees pop out of the clutch!

Oh and on a side note. I got the het pied girl that is 11 eggs short of a dozen to eat a couple days ago. I gave her a crawler rat even though she could easily eat an adult mouse. It took her a few hours, but she ate it! Guess I'll just have to try feeding her crawlers every few days for now.

She eats a protein shake for breakfast, a well balanced lunch, and for dinner she often enjoys a glass of wine :)

Just kidding. About one small rat per week, with slightly more during the heavy feeding season (fall).
