camping trip for all bp.net in az
so five of us bp.net users came up with a grand idea.there is a reptile expo in az around november 19,20,21. we are trying to gather like minds who would join us on a camping adventure after the expo for two days or so.the specific location of the camping grounds and dates are still up in the air. the point of this thread is to get the word out and see how many people would actually go and hang out.
westcoast, northcoast, southcoast, east coast middle coast all is invited, lets do this.:D
    so whos down?

my friends know of this spot in flagstaff that is awesome, its off normal trails and you have to four wheel to get there but its gorgeous. people use it other than us because people leave "bread crumbs"to find their way back..

I like Big Sur as well :) It is friggin gorgeous there.

And Bikini's are MORE THEN WELCOME!!! Which means Boardshorts for us dudes will be happening!

    You know I'm in!

cdavidson9 (Calen Davidson) is one excited dude! Can't wait to party and camp with you all!!!

If we do Big Sur, anyone outside the area can fly into Oakland International. I am 25 min from the airport, we can all get our barrings at my house then cruise down to Big Sur which is an hour at most from my house. We can all hit up a Costco trip on the way down and then have a blast at one of the most beautiful spots in California that I know of :)

Oh dang, my aunt lives in Oakland! And a ton of my family lives in San Anselmo.
You're idea sounds pretty good to me though.
The only problem with it is if I fly up there and find anything awesome on the trip, I'm pretty sure I can't fly back down with it. Haha.
Ugh, I want to go camping so bad!! If you all don't hurry up and pick a place and time, I'm just going to pick my own spot, go by myself, and say anyone is welcome to join me. :P

Well at the very least, go visit your aunt; I live in Oakland as well! There are a lot of bay area people on here. I still vote Big Sur up in central cali on the beach. :)

its been two years for me as well.and that time was in flagstaff near top of the mountain when we had an eye of a tornado forming directly above us.we four wheeled down a mountain buzzed, with hail pounding on my friends bronco, we had to use uncut guitar strings off my acoustic to stitch our tents entries back shut..yay for monsoon season.

No point in me camping. I go outside, and it smells like a camp fire, from some forest fire in AZ.

I live in Albuqerque, and we are covered in smoke.

Anthony, is this that cove that has the trail you can walk down from that parking area with the bad ass little waterfall that dumps into the ocean? I'm sure you know where Im talking about.. it's right after you cross one of those sweet bridges down there with the big arches on the underside of it..

Also, did you end up going to a rat rack finally? I'm still rockin the tub set ups that you posted, lol. They're working great! I built 4 of them, and as long as I keep putting in little chew-wood blocks I am yet to have a chew through :)

Think I'm going to make one more to have a total of 5. I have 3 breeding trios and that only leaves one grow-out tub for weaners. It's time to start seperating the males and females however due to them getting big enough now. I'd say since I built them however (prob a week or so after you posted the DIY thread) I have had prob 6 to 10 litters. It has been SO AWESOME not having to buy food. I love breeding the little nuggets.. they're a crack up. Thanks again so much for the awesome thread man. Hope all is well, and hope you join us on the BPNET camping adventure where ever the hell it may be.

I live in Pennsylvania. There is no humanly possible way for me to do this. I really really wish I could. I just don't have the money laying around right now to be able to travel. It sounds like a ton of fun though.

How is that possible? haha. I live about 20 minutes from Oakland International as well, and there is no way I could make it to Big Sur in an hour? Its at least a 4 hour drive from Oakland.

Either way, I probably wont be making it to AZ if the campout is there sadly. I have too much work related stuff going on this summer, but a weekend camping trip in Cali is doable :)

Yep! Thats the same cove! That place is beautiful. Really awesome secret beaches all up and down that area too.

And yes, I ended up ditching those tubs for a rack. You might consider going to a rack as well. I find it much easier and more space efficient :) I keep the tubs around for use as grow out bins, but thats about it now. But yeah, it's actually pretty fun breeding them, and watching the little ones grow up. haha

Just out of curiosity, is there any good camping in the Cave Creek area. I went there 2 times and enjoyed it as its out of the way but I didnt know if its got camping of any kind. How about Camelback Mountain...is there any camping there also?...im sure yall got better locations but just throwing 2 options out there.
