I'd don't think there is anything wrong with her. I've seen my gravid females do that before.

You didn't research any of this before you decided to breed?

i did but cant find a pics with them like this. all the ones i seen are wraped aroun water bowls thats why it sparked my concern.she looked funky so i went back to my begining studies and cant find anything with them like this.so i figured i ask to see if someone seen this befor.also it seems to quick for her to be in pre lay shed but ill check my records to see when they locked up.

From what I've gathered before this thread is that it is better to count days by their ovulation, not pre lay shed. I've also seen multiple pictures on this forum with girls laying on their backs like that, males actually do it sometimes too. Good luck.

From what I've read before she's laying inverted. Gravid females do this because, it's believed, they are very uncomfortable from the eggs. Which makes sense. But I've seen my males do it for no reason. This is an awesome guideline to breeding. Good luck.

Yep, completely normal. She's either building follicles or is gravid.

    Hi,

When they mate who's tail is on the bottom facing up?

How confident are you with probing. Have you tried popping them?

Hmm, I would re-probe them both because the male takes the bottom position.

great!!now im stressing.i know this if this helps the female that inverted in the pics in this post looked funny when she was laying normal the other day and i noticed she looked wavy it looked like egg shapes. i counted 5 and a possible.didnt want to touch her to feel them because she was in shed.

If you're comfortable palpating you can try that after she sheds to see if she has follicles/eggs. I would still re-probe them just to be sure. It could just have been a fluke if the male was trying to position himself at the time of the picture. Have you noticed the "female" underneath all the time or just this once?

    Now I'm confused,.

Here is how they should be locking up, male is the hypo with his tail under the female's tail, female is the het.

    http://i859.photobucket.com/albums/a...-2-15-11-1.jpg

If your female assumes the position of my hypo male then "she" might be a male.

    Hope that helps, lol!

uou guys lost me. the male is on the bottom and female is on top.and you guys are saying thats how they should be or not.

They are saying that the male is on the bottom and the female is on top. I think what gets a little confusing is that you stated in the first breeding pic you posted that the female was on bottom and the male was on top. Typically that is not how it is done but it could've just been the male positioning himself. Good luck though with possible eggs.
