    New addition
This is Josslyn our new baby. She is a Coral Albino. We got her a week ago. She will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. Is it ok to start holding her now? She ate for us Tuesday evening. We are new to Boas so I will probably have more questions soon.

Not the best pictures. I took a few when we first brought her home. Thanks for looking.

    Wow! Super baby! Congrats!

We just got our first baby boa 2 weeks ago. We were told by her breeder (Tim at Special K Reptiles) that boas are NOT ball pythons and that many actually enjoy being held. He told us we could hold her from day 1 and we did. We did limit it to just a few minutes at a time, but Tim was right, Peaches seemed to enjoy the attention and did not seem in the least bit stressed by the gentle handling - and she ate her first meal for us 3 days after she came home. Interestingly, this meal was her FIRST f/t meal - she'd only been offered live before. So the upshot is that the handling did not affect her settling in or eating. Have fun with her! ;)

Handle away! Beware, though... Boas do not like going back into their cages/tubs, etc. It's a boa thing :)

We got her out a weighed her a little while ago. She weighs a big ole 44g. We held her for a few minutes until she got a looked squirmy. Thanks for the info Evenstar. Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Lol, that's very true. Mine tries to climb back up my arm as I'm putting her in and then tries to get out before I can get the lid back on. :P

No problem! And Peaches is just like the others - she does NOT want to go back in her cage. She's very creative in finding ways to cling to you... :D
