    Giano: one year later
one year ago noone would bet a Dollar on this little fellow..
now 1 year later he's doing well, eating on his own on prekilled mice and acting like other balls
I snapped this pic this morning after the shed and the meal (there's a short video of the meal too on youtube)

Oh wow! That was unexpected! Is the head on the left (in the picture) dominant?

no dominant head, both equally controlling the body

What is his weight? And is it more appropriately "their" weight?

That's so cool! I'd love to hatch out one like that--kind of. It might freak me out and I wouldn't know what to do.

I can't believe they both control the body and both can eat. How does it happen when he eats? How does he/they choose which head gets the rat this time?

That is one beautiful and very unique animal you have there.

Do you have to feed both heads on feeding day?

Or do you alternate between the two?

    this video is from today
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i319wGXg0pc

I use to feed only the left head cause I tried the left head the first time ( hte one who was more interested in feeding and I proved that left esophagus was leading into the stomach. dunno about the right one, so better not to try!

I had to assist feed him for the first 2 months roughly, but now he's eating fine on his own (there's a video on my channel about him grabbing a prekilled mouse from the forceps)

Probably a good idea! I was also thinking, it's awesome that the other head didn't also try to attack the prey! Maybe it's grown accustomed to letting the other head do the work? It would be bad if they both tried to eat it!

He is so breathtaking...Has he ever had any difficulties because of this? (other than a slow start?)

I was so intrigued, and I found an article from Nat Geo on two headed snakes, figured I'd share. So glad to hear he's doing well!

    OMG :O

Since you're saying that both heads have control over the body, does this mean both heads are eating??

Thanks for sharing - you don't see this everyday..

Wow, that is amazing! I'm sure it's just a deformity, but in the off chance that it is genetic... do you have any plans to breed? Do you even know the sex? This is super interesting. Post more pics if you have them. What was the clutch he was hatched from? Any info on that pairing or incubation or anything else related to this snake?

he is a male and he came from piebald X 66% het pied (that didn't prove out) pairing.
in his clutch another egg contained a set of regular twins.
this season his mum didn't develop any follicles. her previous breedings with the same pied male gave me all perfect and healthy babies.

Don't you mean them/they rather than him :P

That is way cool! I'm so glad 'they' pulled through for you and are thriving! I remember watching your first feeding video!
