Eggs for sale
What's with this?! One of the worst scams I've seen! Regardless of the fact that he could just send any ol' egg to you, how horrible is that to even think of shipping eggs. Sounds like a great way to make scrambled eggs to me. Sheesh!

I've seen people do this with bird eggs too. Its a big risk with some of the more expensive ones, but common practice with quail, game hen, pheasants, and the like. I don't know how it works for herps. I wouldn't risk it.
-
How interesting. It would be enlighting to see what he is charging. If they didn't hatch then he could say it was all your fault. What does "available in stuck and ready for incubation" mean? Can you buy only one egg? LOL If the price was right I might just be interested to see what I got.
And what is a "river" egg?
-
Bird eggs are supposed to be moved/rotated. I would think any bump could cause the death of the embryo in reptile eggs. I won't even go into the temperature issue. I like how he says they are "tested". I'm just shocked anyone would even consider selling/shipping eggs. :(
-
It does seem like a scam....Who in their right mind would do that....
-
Not the first time I've seen it, and probably won't be the last.

They may take your payment and you never get any eggs! I emailed them to see what they charge!

How do you guarantee what is in an egg other than a yolk and egg whites LOL
-

Re: Eggs for sale
i believe i could make this work lol in high school for one of my classes we had to build a carrying case strong enough to keep 3 eggs safe from a drop off the top of the science building, then we had to see how many we could safely drop and i think i dropped 30 maybe 40 and all but like 4 survived it was fun but i dont think anyone can build a box safe enough to go through FedEx or UPS lol even though it says fragile they treat it like its crap

Bird eggs can be scrambled easily as well as reptiles. Yes they need to be rotated but its only at about quarter turns every hour or so depending on the birds species. If rotated too much, the embryo will die.
I used to breed cockatiels for 5 years. Those little eggs are strong but sometimes one night fright in a nest box will lose your whole clutch.
I know i wouldnt pay to have eggs shipped. How could the seller possibly put a gaurentee on an item like that?

They do that too! I saw an episode of Hardcore Pawn and a woman came in with Grandma's teeth! They asked her how Grandma would eat and she said "Through a straw!" They did not take them!

You obviously haven't seen the snakeskin manicures. They glue pieces of shed to the nail upside down and do a thin layer of paint over. Fairly expensive if I recall!
sent from my EVO

You would be mistaken about bumping a reptile egg could cause death to the embryo. I'm not saying it can't happen, but I've seen a person drop a BP egg 3 feet and it still hatched (It was dropped as it was being pulled from the mom). So I doubt seriously that shipping an egg would cause it to not hatch, or at least the bumpyness of shipping the egg. I'm sure if the egg was packaged where it wasn't able to move much it would be just fine.... Heat on the other hand is a totally different matter.

I guess reptile eggs are more resilient than I would have thought after reading Jay_Bunny's post. But I still envision the way carrier services handle packages and cringe at the thought of shipping an egg of any kind.
-
I think it would be possible with enough insulation, padding, and warnings on the box of the contents, you could safely ship eggs if you gave them enough heat. You'd also have to test the package for heat fluctuations (take the box out for a car ride and record temps in the box during both hot and cold weather). If the temperature remained somewhat constant, the eggs should be fine. My eggs not only fell a foot and a half out of the incubator, possibly rolled, experienced a drop in temperature from 88 to 69, possibly spent hours in this condition, but they also experience a 2 degree sway during incubation (sometimes up to 3). So far, the four that survived the fall are alive and well. I think ball python eggs could survive shipping.
Now, would I ever ship eggs? No. Who in their right mind would pass up on seeing those little heads pop out of the egg and witness their first experiences of life (1st shed, 1st meal, etc)?

this is the answer when i ask him about river egg:
I do not have the river specie any longer. I just sold them out and the eggs to a breeder in Germany. So, I do not have that specie now and don't intend getting another. I'll take that out of my list. So, which are the eggs you will want to get? Where are you located?
-
Re: Eggs for sale
Tell him you are in Nigeria, then he won't have to ship his eggs very far.
-
This is the response I got:
Hello,
Thank you for the mail. The eggs are wrapped in tissues before placed in the box. Also, tissues/cotton is placed in the box and around before the eggs are placed in the box for transportation. If a box is not used, the eggs will be shipped in an incubator but the incubator will be returned after the eggs are received. I do not have the river eggs now, they were bought yesterday by another breeder in Germany. I shipped the eggs yesterday to Germany, I just sold out the parents of the river specie too, so I do not have this specie again and don't intend getting another. I'm in Tx, my snakes lay the eggs and I also do collection from other breeders. shipping is not included in the prices, if you can place your order, I will give you the summary of your order with the shipping cost to Canada. Which are the species you are interested in and how many each?
waiting to hear from you soon.
thanks

Re: Eggs for sale
I just sent him "nice" email....
Where do these people get off?! :rage:
-
Here is his response when I ordered an Albino egg which are suppose to be $25! Also he wants Western Union or Bank transfer so there is no recourse if he ripps you off!
Taking just one egg will be expensive for postage. postage cost $55 and the egg cost $100, this makes a total of $155. I will give you one additional free egg of the albino. So, I will be sending you two eggs but you will pay for one, postage remains the same. I will need your full names too. Payment is via western union for small orders like this and large orders via bank transfer. I can assure you that everything will go well and we will definitely do more in the future.
-
This has got to be the worst scam artist. He seriously knows nothing about BP or breeding them. Haha he didn't respond to me.
-
i work at ups, i wouldnt trust the safety of an egg through the system.scrambled eggs for sure!
-
But didn't he say shipping was free? Wth... this is ridiculous, I had someone try to get me on Clist for a car, claimed it was a mother who lost her son in Iraq, yeah your a mother alright a real mother.... sorry but when I asked to see car person claimed it was shipped to Seattle from Va & I'd have to wait til after they received WU transfer...hell to the Naw!!!

sounds like an obvious scam... he does a 100% guarentee... that should be your first clue because sure the eggs may be fertile but there is always a chance the baby could die before hatching
Personal Example:
I own fancy pigeons and had a clutch of 2 eggs scheduled to hatch within 1 week. 1 baby died inside the egg for unknown reasons and started to decompose by the time the second age hatched
I can understand a 100% money back guarentee if a shipment arrives sick or an animal dies shortly after arrival but offering a 100% guarentee on shipped eggs :colbert:
-
In his price list he says that Albino egg is 25$, but than later he says that this egg is 100$:confused::confused::confused:
This alone should let you know that he's a scammer.
-
i posted a reply on his ad explaining why i think hes a scammer... all of you should also and then flag the ad as a scam so others wont fall victim
