    eggs almost ready
I have a clutch of 10th eggs that's due to hatch on the 27th but most have already dimpled. My question is do I remove the eggs from the incubator until they hatch or would it be safer to take them out?

Eggs stay in incubator till the babies have come out of the eggs 100%.

Leave them in the incubator until after they hatch and leave their eggs.

Thanks for the advice. But I have seen some breeders take the eggs out and cut them do they keep them out or just put them back in the bator? Do I have to worry about getting fresh air in the bator once a few have hatched?

When we cut eggs, they go right back in the incubator till they come out of eggs on their own.

No, they have to go back. Your incubator is holding the humidity and temperature that they (and their eggs) need. If left outside of optimal conditions (like those in your incubator) the egg could desiccate and kill your baby.

Ok I got it. 1 more question lol 4 of the biggest eggs I have are very dimpled and when I candle them I can see the baby snake moving around. Would it be ok for me to cut those even tho its still 8 days from the hatch date?

I would wait if I were you. I prefer not cutting at all unless I feel like something might be wrong.

What day are they on? You said they were due to hatch on the 27th. Are you considering day 55 the hatch date, day 60 or another day? Without knowing how far they are along I cant really give advise if you should cut or not.

Of the other hand, have you cut eggs before? If not are you 100% comfortable with the idea? If the answer is no to both questions your best option is to let them pip on their own.

The 27th would be day 53 but my incubator spiked between 89.8 and 90.2 on and off for a few days until I figured out the problem. So I was assuming that since the eggs that look ready to hatch were facing the heat tape that they would be a little further along. This would be my first clutch and breeding attempt.

Day 45 is too early to cut! I would wait until at least day 53 if not longer! You don't have to cut at all but it's your choice! Day 52 is the very earliest that I would cut! Your pics did not work! Good luck! Patients is a virtue!!!

Day 45 is not too early. Not sure why everyone is so set on a certain day and think anything before day 50 is horrible and will result in this or that.

I cut every year day 40-45 with no ill effect. If you know what your doing theres no harm done.

This late into incubation, I wouldn't worry too much about spots and water stains. They're bound to start popping up as the eggs begin to sweat.

And as far as the dimpled eggs do I have anything to wiry about or is it normal this late into incubation.

Why are the eggs on the right so buried in the substrate?

Since this is your first breeding attempt my strong suggestion is:

    Don't cut the eggs.

Just let it finish incubating. There's stuff you have to keep an eye on and watch out for and do something about once you cut the eggs. For a first timer, it's better to not have to worry about all that.

Keep posting here until the 27th so we can get updates on how they're doing.

The eggs will start dimpling naturally a few weeks before they're due to hatch.

I am using hatchrite and it started to get really dry after a few hours and my eggs were drying out and wrinkleling so I tried burying them and that has keep them in good condition so far.

I decided to cut one egg open just to check and its doing fine I will post a video of it when I get off work. The baby was very responsive and looks pretty big IMO. I will let the other babies pip on there own

In the future it would be wise to take the advice you get on this board. Since you are new to this here are a couple tips.

    1. Always spotlight the egg to see where the veins are so you can avoid them when cutting.

    2. Pinch egg before you cut to make sure you dont cut the snake.

    3. Cut in a V shape to make a closing flap. That away you get to see what it is and you can close the flap back down so the egg stays sealed better. Some times when totally exposed like yours they can begin to mold. (Experienced it)

Furthermore congrats on your new baby ball pythons! And good luck on the others.

All the eggs hatched and are doing fine except for 1 which was tangled in the cord attaching it to the till and severed it for the most part. This one came out to only be about 35g. The rest are fat and healthy and are between 65 and the biggest us 87g. Here's a few pics and will have more up in the bp pictures forumhttp://tapatalk.com/mu/c6e4c138-081b-bed2.jpg

    Congrats!

I'm on day 51 and waiting anxiously for my first clutch to start pipping. If they have not pipped by this Saturday (day 55) I will cut them.

Good luck with your new babies!
